Happy Birthday to Me Yes, I know, completely and utterly shameless to start my own birthday thread but it's after midnight here and I'm officially 30 years old today, April 27th 2020. Am I, as my brother says, "officially old" now? Is old when you lose touch with what's topping the charts and trending on Twitter? If that's the case, I've been old since I was 16. I don't feel old. Not entirely. I have started to groan when I get out of a chair and I'm noticing a few grey hairs now that I'm reverting back to my natural hair colour for the first time in 15 years. I'm not ginger. I'm strawberry blonde, thank you very much. My cousin tells me I don't look a day over 21. She's probably right, to be fair. When I was 21, I looked 13 so I've been blessed with good genes. I'm just waiting for the day I look in the mirror and all those years catch up to me. A few years ago, that thought would have scared me. Not anymore. That stuff doesn't bother me anymore. Maybe I'm not old. Maybe I've just grown up? | |

Also, no, 30 isn't old at all. My parents are in their 60's, retired for a couple years but starting a new business/career together!! 30 is only chapter 1 of your adulthood imo. No offense to those in their 20's - yall are still barely writing prologue!

I never really celebrate my birthday anyway but with everyone locked down it it just gives me an excuse to dodge questions from my friends asking why I'm not doing anything for my birthday 😋. Got a nice little video message from my brother who's living over in France and the typical "is it your birthday?" message from my sister. It was a quiet day. Made the most of my Disney+ subscription, I'll tell you that! | |
