.Org Family check-in... (aka Covid-19 sucks)

Hey. Long time no see. :grouphug:

I know most of the posters here these days don’t know me but I would like everyone to check in and let your org family know how you are doing. Maybe some lurkers can pop in and send some hugs. It’s going to be a bit of a rough ride for a while and it is a good time to connect. I see the map of cases exploding around the globe and I can’t help but wonder how all the people I care about from this board are doing.

I’m in western :Canada: and have been at home for a couple of weeks now. My hubby is the designated grocery getter and has stocked us up well. So far so good and we’re trying to be diligent with our infection control procedures.

My biggest concern is for my parents. We’ve just moved mom into long term care and the stories of outbreaks in care homes freak me the f out. Dad is now on his own and beyond the adjustment of that is the reality of the self isolation.

I am concerned for us too. I get horrid respiratory infections so don’t want anything to do with Covid. I have a 7 week old baby that we worked very hard for... I don’t even want to think about the what-if’s.

Overall I think my community is doing pretty well as things have been shut down for a while but we have a long way to go to ride out this storm! Stay safe, purple people... and wash those hands!

I’m finding it hard to cope cause I don’t like wearing a mask and I feel like I can’t go anywhere without the fear of getting pulled over for simply being out. I feel like I have to get out to do things and going out was part of my daily routine so I feel emotionally low. But I guess I should be thankful I have good immunity and no respiratory conditions, and am sorry to hear some of you have that

Really trying but feel unmotivated. I don’t have any ideas for making art, but may make some piano videos for my social media, to entertain others in this time lol

Hey alpha. Where abouts are you from? I know I wouldn’t want to be out very much without a mask these days. If everyone would wear them I think we’d be further ahead of the game. Are you able to get out to a park for some fresh air?

I’m from Toronto. My one workplace isn’t letting me wear a mask, but the other one is fine with it. Parks and public spaces aren’t allowed to be visited right now and people are getting fined.

Doing well in upstate NY...rotating work shifts so back to work 2moro for the week. Ran out for groceries today with mask & gloves on but still feel uneasy about bringing anything home...I have a 12 year old son. He hasn't left the house in 3 weeks, says he misses gym class. 😔 But he's healthy and that's most important right now. Online schooling has been a challenge... I've learned a lot and he struggles to pay attention outside the classroom setting. Overall, I think we're good. I'm looking forward to nicer days so we can be outside more.

Remote working. Clear skies after some nice juicy rainstorms. Well I didn't have to drive thru them that's a plus. Yard going wild again after 3 weeks, yikes. Hanging in there for today.

Beautiful sunny day in upstate NY today! Got outside, played ball in the yard, took the dog for a walk...things felt almost normal for a while. 40 people laid off at work, fortunately I was not included, back full time in the office...no more working from home.

Layla here!

Working from home but doing contract work so I can take time off to travel. Was in China Dec 2019 to Feb 3 2020. Knew about the virus before I went but we were going to be in Hainan so now big worry. Was scheduled to fly out on Feb 16th, but found out (ON Feb 1) Delta was stopping flight on Feb 5. Yeah, that was a panic! Son stayed in China because he teaches at a university in Henan province.

Feel like I jumped out of the frying pan into the fire by coming back. But I'm well and all my family in Florida is well. I'm in Delaware about 30 miles from Mr. Biden!

I've found that my clothing poses the biggest threat to my health - who knows how many viruses are hiding in my underwear? So now I just don't wear anything but a mask when I go shopping. Problem solved! thumbs up!

nice to know dear. thank you for sharing. smile
