Titans or Raiders makes the most sense.

But I seriously doubt he's leaving NE if he wants to win another ring.

Why would he even think of going to another team, unless he's trying to play games to get more $$

He didn't exactly have a great supporting cast last season. Guys like Gronk aren't easily replaceable.

He has been relatively underpaid considering he has been the top QB for a long time, he probably won't have e chance to go back to the Superbowl with the declining Patriots, and the scuttlebutt has long held that he and coach tolerate but don't particularly like each other. If he leaves, he'll go to the Titans or another contending team.

You nailed it, anybody who follows football at all knows the above reasons are why Tom might leave.

Coach Bill is very emotionless, as real football fans know, and much of his success has had to do with his willingness to cut ties with popular players. He is the last person to be motivated by what Tom has done in the past, all he cares about is what will make the Pats a better team going forward. If Coach believes that means not giving Tom what he wants, then he'll say goodbye to him. I also think Coach would like to prove that he can win without Tom, something that he's never done.

As for Tom, besides money he probably wants to go into a situation where he has more control. In New England Coach Bill is a control freak, and that's something Tom never liked.

Can't afford him and doubt Brady or Ben would settle as the backup QB

Don't worry Brady would join the XFL before joining the Bengals

If New England can address their issues on offense, they (along with KC), will be favorites to win the AFC. The sticking point is money....Brady's not giving the organization a hometown discount anymore. Kraft has called Brady his "5th son", so his role in this is crucial.

That's the intriguing part, if Kraft makes the decision instead of Bill.

And if so, how will Bill react.

I will say that a player who becomes iconic (and tom is) and known to play for a given team.., that is be better for their legacy to just retire from that team (and none of this play a few seasons somewhere else and then sign for one day just to retire as a...Whatever...

i think some become addicted to it... addicted to the game the thrill the hero like worship... one of the times i was most disappointed in Prince was at the One Night Alone show... the people were not all that enthusiastic... and he said said something about it and he ask "What is my name?" and then said "you better act like it..." (that is he expected more cheering...despite the focus on songs many of then did not know very well if at all)

Yeah.

Montana didn't help the Chiefs any when he left San Fran. He was old then too.

Yup just like I said upthread, Bill won't cater to anyone because of past performance. He prefers to let great players go a year too soon rather than a year too late.

It will be interesting to see if Tom's new teammates and coaching staff can adapt to his system.
