Yup. It's still there. Everything in there is extremely over-priced though so I don't go in there.

Over priced, yeah I don't doubt that at all. When they were closing down all the stuff they were selling was still high

They're one of the last stores where you can buy physical music or movies in Dublin though so they're a necessary evil sometimes.

Never had a Tower Records store in the Carolinas. We generally had regional store chains

like Manifest, School Kids Records, and Sounds Familiar where Darius Rucker once worked.

I used to see him all the time before his band struck it big. The only national chains we had I

can think of was Record Bar and Musicland.

I've heard of Musicland (think we had one here in Hawaii back in the day) but not the rest.

Yeah that's what I mentioned that they were regional store chains in the Carolinas but Musicland

and Record Bar were national record store chains.

I only remember the Wherehouse locations which disappeared decades ago. I got most my records from places like Sears and Kmart which are practically gone too.

Carle Place, NY (Long Island).

This was my Tower.

Spent just about every Friday here from '87 - 'early 90's flipping through records, new releases, bought my Controversy magazines, and even videos.

Yes, West 4th Street and Broadway. It's funny that the indie store Other Music across the street that opened in response to Tower to sell all the music Tower wouldn't outlasted Tower by many years.

Yup me too. Towards the end there they hardly had any records (well my store) and more cd's and tapes.

At least it's still music-related... I spent many fun hours with my son at Guitar Center...
