After too much news, I switched over to this show. I burned out on situation comedies a couple of decades ago but the first two seasons of this show have really been enjoyable with a couple of laugt out moments every episode. And, I am looking forward to see if it gets better in subsequent seasons like most people say. First 2 sesons: 3.5 stars out of 4.

You know who really gets my goat, though? That poseur on RHOA, Marlo Hampton. Always overdressed and turning her hotel room into a department store display when the girls all travel together. It's so absurd

Homeland - entire series and the final season.

The first two seasons of Homeland were as compelling as any tv show I have ever seen. Sure, you had to suspend belief at times but it was so intriguing. I though the show lost it's way the next few seasons, so while it was watchable it definitely had declined in quality. I think that there was a quality upsurge the last few years even if it never reached the peak of the first two seasons. The series finale, which I watched last night, was excellent.

The entire series as well as the last season: (of 5)

You may want to experiment with some of the later seasons but don't expect the specialness of that intriguing relationship of the first two years. It seems that the 3rd and 4th year they tried unsuccessfully to transition away from the relationship but didn't have a good replacement storyline. Eventually, they found some grounding in fairly standard political espionage stories but with good writing and excellent acting. It was good enough for me to stay with it but I definitely know others who stopped watching it because the magic of the first two years was gone. Curious to see your thoughts if you give it a try.

Good to know. Season 3 is already an improvement over the first two seasons with a hint of heart starting to emerge. Love it!

The Handmaid's Tale - Season 3

While I agree with critics that the first season was the best, I still think it's worth watching as Elizabeth Moss continues to be amazing in this dystopian drama. However, it does remain to be seen how much longer I can handle the incessant misogyny wearing me down. Ugh. 4.5/5

I'm related to the author of Altered Carbon, but I didn't love it either. Like you, I'll watch season 2 though. It has a huge budget.

The expanse similarly started off in a bewildering way, but settled into a rhythm a few episodes in and you could decide early on who you like and who you don't without being glaringly obvious. It was difficult in Altered Carbon, it's like you couldn't get to know people properly and when they did start fleshing out a particular character it's like all that explaining still didn't explain it lol (ie Rei, why did she turn out like that??) the whole finale hung on her story and we never saw it for ourselves, just hints. Unless that happened in an episode I fell asleep in lol

Watching this ^ mini-series, finished part 4 last night. Premise: A teenage boy is found stabbed. A couple's (Chris Evans & Michelle Dockery) teenage son, Jacob (the kid from "It" reboot), is accused of murdering the boy who'd been bullying him. Jacob denies it even though his fingerprint is found on the dead boy's shirt. His parents support his claim of innocence, but deal with the fallout of community harassment, the press hounding them, losing friends and jobs (she is a elementary school teacher put on leave) and he is a local DA (also put on leave). Jacob's story appears flimsy, and he has an odd attitude about the whole thing, but he maintains his innocence. There is also a sexual predator in the neighborhood who had pics of the dead boy on his phone... oh, and the grandfather (JK Simmons) is currently serving time in prison for the rape and murder of a teenage girl - so now it becomes a possible genetic thing as well?

The cast is good, and the story is interesting enough to keep me coming back to find out who done it (I am 4 for 8 episodes) but I can't help but feel this book adaptation could have been a nicely edited 2 hour movie and not an 8 hour mini series. Stretching it out over 8 episodes is creating a lack of depth in the characterizations. Will come back and update this post once I am finished.

I'm watching right now Hey Arnold, a cartoon series I've always been in love with, ever since I was a child and watched it the first time, now in my early 30's I enjoy Hey Arnold just as much if not much more because now I do understand all the nuances and subtleties every single episode has to offer, it touches on several subjects like growin up, childhood, family, loneliness, friendship, love, selfishness, humour, suburban life and so many others. It's a heartwarming classic, and the mixture of cartoons with jazz music, just heavenly made. Love all its characters wholeheartedly. Now I'm currently watching the third season with my mother who nows loves the show, not as much as I do, though. 10/10

It's based on the book Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan. There is a trilogy and the second book is called Broken Angels. I honestly think the TV series had too big a budget, I think if it had been kept simpler, it would have been better, but then it's rare for me to enjoy a TV series more than a book anyway. Honestly, I thought the story got given second place to the CGI effects, where the story leads in the books. It's not my favourite genre to start with TBH, and I really wanted to like it more than I did, but it was what it was.

Outlander - Season 5

As horrific as the finale was, I thought this season was the best since the first. 4.5/5

How did you like "The Affair"?

I was completely hooked.

The last 2 seasons got a bit wackish.

But I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Do you have HBO? "Divorce" was pretty good.
