Cat tips?

Does anyone have any tried and tested tips for stopping your cat from bringing in mice and birds?

I have a cat flap and previous to this manual inspection was obviously the way to go - If he had a ‘friend’ access would be denied through the window.

Cat flap is best for me as I’ve not been so well recently and so getting up and down to the window isn’t hugely easy.

The trouble is she is bringing in larger and larger creatures - a bird the same size as her cane in last week which was just awful. I am lucky to not have to deal with gore it’s just sad and wasteful of a little beings life.

It's 10,000 year's of predatory cat DNA (she can't help it) and brings you her catch because you're her family.

yes, mine doesnt do that anymore; he knows what i do with him when he tries that (rubbing his face in dirty things or waterboarding him biggrin )

It took just 3 times, and since he leaves his prey nicely outside, always on the same spot.

If you’re on coronavirus lockdown then those mice and birds could be very handy!

Hey, great solution. I'd thought of suggesting bells on a collar but this is clever and simple and if it works, fantastic, even if the cats look silly wearing it. I like feeding the birds and hate it when the cat is lurking. I might get one.

They say that the bright colored collars work much better than a bell around the neck.

I used to think that a bell would be much more effective but I guess I was wrong. Birds notice this colorful pattern very quickly and experts say it could save more bird lives than those bells.

I love both , cats and birds, and it would be great if we could protect the birds and keep cats at the same time.
