The Mandalorian - Season 1

I enjoyed watching a Star Wars vehicle free from the controversies of the current movie trilogy. 4/5

The Boys - *** out *****

Dark and strange take on the superhero genre. Writing made me laugh and it got pretty dark, both qualities I admire for my entertainment.

That's not to say that you won't enjoy it, you'll just not understand why some things happen and the way the show cuts back and forth through time, sometimes by decades, may throw you off a bit. Overall though, what they've done with The Witcher is nothing short of brilliant. It's available now on Netflix and I'd thoroughly recommend it. However, I'd also advise you to at least read the first book in the series, The Last Wish, as it will fill in a few of the blanks. 5/5

and I think its the best work Henry has done, and he looks so....buff

I haven't watched season 2 yet but I loved season 1.

Felt like they stepped it up a little for Season 2, so good.

Second season was just as well done and hysterical as season 1.

Love the production value with it's attention to detail but it's the writing that is the star on this show.

Succession - Season 1. The only tv shows I have truly binged watched (my definition is to typically watch more than 1 and at times several episodes in one sitting) are Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and now Succession. It got more intriging with each euisdoe, like those other series. The acting is uniformly excellent. 5 stars out of 5. (Note: the 2nd season suposed to be even better)

I watched Season two, and I also give it my highest rating! The last scene is priceless. This was so addicting I literally feel that I am going through withdrawals after watching both seasons in a short period. A few unexpected things:

1. The characters are certainly unlikeable but still you somehow feel increasingly drawn to them as the series proceeds. I found myself have a couple of rooting interests in who was going to take over the family business.

2. There are some incredible comedic scenes amidst the darkness. The humor certainly adds greatly to the entertainment value of the series.

3. The "after the show" commentary that the premium networks often do is the worst I have seen for an excellent series. I stopped watching after 4 of them because they seemed so worthless. They gave no extra insight into the episodes.

That last scene was life. I so hated Logan during that last episode. It's funny from what Ive seen Jeremy talks like Kendall its so weird watching him in interviews. I get a kick out of all the characters. Will never forget " boar on the floor" that was insane

Yes, the boar on the floor scene was unbelievable. Both horrific and painfully funny at the same time.

For some reason, I woke up at 3:30 AM the other night and just could not go back to sleep. So I went into the other room, checked the guide, and figured the best thing on at 4:10 AM was "NCIS - New Orleans". Now - I could have been right. NCIS - NO might have been the best thing on a 4:10 AM. If so, my advice is - don't watch TV at 4:10 AM.

This show is so dumb that I watched three straight episodes of it.

I mean...I had to see if Pride (Scott Bakula) got out of the trap they set for him, right? (Unfortunately, he did.) Also, I had to see how many times the worst actor I've seen in decades - some dude named Lucas Black - could look at anyone and everyone with his Side Eyes and Scrunched-Up Forehead, right? (It turned out to be a lot of times.) And I had to see what Lou Diamond Phillips is up to, right? (I'd say about 235.)

NCIS - NO was so bad that it didn't have the intended effect, which was to bore me back to sleep. It gets a Big Fat Zero.

The whole show was a highlight to be honest but if I had to choose just one thing about it that stood apart it would be that scene in the final episode where the two Stormtrooper guys are arguing about trying look at the baby Yoda. Then they decide to do some target practice. And miss with every shot. Just like every other stormtrooper in the the Star Wars universe. Unlike a lot of the "comedy" in the movies, it was a genuinely funny scene that didn't detract from the story being told elsewhere on the show.

That last episode was directed by Taika Waititi, who is rumoured to be directing a new Star Wars movie after he's done with Thor 4 and the live action Akira remake. Given his history, he's exactly the kind of filmmaker who should get a run at making a Star Wars movie. But that's a topic for another thread.

For now, I'll stick to talking about The Mandalorian and I'll give it a 5/5. It's a Star Wars show with Nick Nolte, Werner Herzog and Apollo Creed. How could it not be 5/5?

I read beforehand that Taika Waititi had directed an episode and when I saw that scene with the Stormtroopers taking target practice, I knew it had to be that one, haha.
