Anybody do the stock market?

I've seen a lot of stock market crazes over the years, going back to the dotcom days.

Made a nice bundle on the weed stocks a few years ago.

Missed the Bitcoin frenzy in 2017 when it went from like $900 to $20K.

And now we have a new insanity - Tesla.

Anybody else into the happenings at Bay Street or Wall Street?

Well, I'm in the market (as most people investing are).

But I can't say I'm "into the happenings at Bay Street or Wall Street". I have someone I pay to be into that for me.

It's just not my area of expertise or interest. Me, I'd rather watch paint dry.

...It would be awesome if I did have that expertise, but my talents lie elsewhere. "A man's got to know his limitations."

It's not what it used to be, that's for sure. Algos, institutions and insiders control everything.

Hi, Ace! wave

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yup, Monday & Tuesday combined were the worst 2 days in Dow Jones history. eek

But anybody like me who invested Monday in the pharmaceutical companies that are working on a Coronavirus vaccine have made some really good money. One stock in particular has nearly doubled since Monday. pimp2

I've got a few GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer, which haven't done much in the last few days so not sure what pharmaceutical stocks you have that are doubling!

As for everything else I have, they've taken a fair pounding recently

Well today the entire market is crap, but from Friday thru yesterday Gilead (GILD) went up 11%

Moderna (MRNA) went from Friday's closing bell of $18.23 to today's opening bell of $35.88

Both have been heavily publicized for their work on a Coronavirus vaccine.
