Random Stuff

I had to start this thread to tell this story, which literally happened five minutes ago.

At the present time, I'm at our house in northern New Mexico. It's right across the street from the ski slope, and there's a little area on that side of the road that can accomodate about 10 cars, so some lucky people get to park right ON the slope.

A fews minutes ago, I see three young guys walking across the street, over to our property. One guy is walking to the driveway but the other two are co,ing down the sloped area off the road. That's odd, and I wondered what they could be doing? Were they in trouble? Did they think they knew someone here?

Nope.

They thought our yard would be a good place to relieve themselves.

As the first guy began unzipping his snow pants, I ran downstairs and outside. Then guess what happened next?

I yelled "Get off my yard!" to some teenagers.

I AM LITERALLY THE MEME.

falloff

At least that one guy said, "Sorry" and they all left.

falloff highfive

But we're still here!

When I was a kid, there was a wide easement behind our house. It was big enough to play baseball or football in, but sometimes a foul ball could go into someone's yard. There was one guy who always yelled at us when that happened, and we called him Mr. Crabapple.

One day my dad and I were playing catch, and Mr. Crabapple came over. Not only was he nice, but it turned out he'd played minor league baseball! I still remember thinking, "If you played baseball, why do you yell at us when WE play baseball?"

Something I've made a personal vow to avoid but I think it's just another part of life that's unavoidable. I'm fighting hard to catch myself when I speak, I just don't want to be that guy.

Found myself talking about standing in line for the first iphone to someone in their late 20s and stopped myself and said "how old am I and WTF am I talking about?...and why are they looking at me like that?"

It feels like I was talking about a few years ago but iphone is at version 11...so it was 2007, 13 damn years ago.

O.A.F.

LOL, you aren't O.A.F. As a friend of mine who still uses his AOL email address (as do I!) points out, we aren't old - we're early adopters!

At work we have 3 sets of restrooms. Single person rooms, Men and Women. There is one "men's" room that is understood to be the one for #2... and anyone can use it.

Once I go to use it as a woman comes out, a co-worker. She said "Oh no you can't go in there..." I smile and say "it's okay..." and again she says "No don't go in there..."

Well I did... and it was not even that bad...

Well about an hour later... I get called to one of the boss's office..."there's been a complaint..."

I cut her off... "If it was Ms. Suchandso... " And I tell the story...

She says "well YOU Need to be more mindful...bla bla bla..." and she hands me a paper to sign that we had this meeting... a fricking "Memo of Concern."

I said "Oh no, I can not do this to you... just write UNFOUNDED on it as to avoid you and her being embarrassed...as this will never stand to a hearing...."

She looked dumbfounded... and did what I said... (I took and scanned it and emailed it to myself)

how outlandish that was... and HELL YES there would have been a hearing. (we have the right to contest any such things)

I'm wondering why my org stats say I visit the site on average 4.4 times a week when I've hardly logged in for about 7 or 8 years. How often was I visiting in the early 2010s to still have that average now? eek This account was only started as my orging was starting to dwindle, too.

MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!!

Okay I read this a few days ago, and it left my head spinning.

I read it again today, and still I'm wondering WTF?

So I have to ask ...

There's six restrooms in total.

Three for just women.

Two for just men.

And one labeled "Men" that all men and women must use for #2 eek

For real?

So if you're in one of the other five restrooms, and let's say you're peeing ... then you realize you gotta poop too .... you hafta get up, and go to the one #2 restroom to do your business?

If I'm understanding correctly, that is weird as hell. Never heard anything like it before.

And now WTF was the complaint about? Because you didn't wait to use the #2 restroom like the woman asked? Why on earth would that be considered inappropriate behaviour? If you gotta go, you gotta go ... right?

It has more to do with ventilation and keeping it contained.

And I was put off that she told on me and more so that the boss thought it was worth the time to ask me about it much less put it in writing.

I get that the purpose of the designated #2 restroom is to keep the smell contained to that one restroom. But I still don't understand what's the reason for you getting reported for going into the #2 restroom?

i guess the woman coming out felt like she was entitled to not have anyone go in after her?

Okay I think I finally get it. LOL!

She didn't want anybody knowing about the smell she left, or talking about it.

If she had left a minute earlier, and nobody had seen her leaving, then it would have been okay because nobody would have known it was her that left the smell.

I guess she's also convinced that nobody thinks she farts? lol lol lol

I'm still amazed y'all have a designated #2 room there. lol

I mean, whenever a woman is seen leaving it .... you know what she just did.

Wouldn't it be easier to just have air fresheners in each restroom?
