XFL Returns

xfllogosourversion-1.jpeg

maxresdefault.jpg

Well more Football starting this weekend, I hope it lasts longer than the Alliance league. Hope they focus more on the football aspect and not the Wrestling aspect which was the problem of the first time around. Like that the Houston Roughnecks looks like the Houston Oilers. Glad St. Louis has a team and rooting for the Battlehawks

It was here before?

LOL, I think I remember it. Didn't you "adopt" it or something?

Ah, that's right!

That logo on the Houston helmet looks like a combination of the old Houston Oilers' and New England Patriots' logos.

Watching some of the games, not bad. I like all the NFL ties. Much better than the original XFL from 2001. They took out all wrestling aspects of it. They have no wrestlers in the booth (thank god) and no stupid skits. Crowds seem to be in the game. Better than the Alliance league. My only complaint is no field goal extra point (like the Alliance league) don't know why they are against the field goal extra point.

Yeah, I hope the league last. Helmets are better looking than the AAF helmets. The AAF Helmets looks like the same company made all the helmets.

I can't figure out for the life of me why the Steelers didn't keep him over Ryan Switzer.

That was the sentiment of Steeler Nation too. Ryan's biggest attribute was suppose to be his

return abilities but all you saw were mostly fair catches. Even the season before when he caught

a lot of short passes there just was very little if any RAC yards.

I don't know why Eli is not on another NFL team. Think he was with Arizona but they must of let him go

I think they kept Ryan Switzer because they wanted a diffferent type of WR for the offense. I know they want a Wes Welker type. Well last year sucked for him to improve because of Ben being out. Switzer will need to step it up this season.

No problem. Well they chose "Iron" because of Birmingham's history of the Iron/Steel industries they had.

I figured, but something similar to "Steelers" (named for the same reason) would have probably sounded better. lol

MLB? Major League Baseball?

Ooops I read it wrong

MLFB plans to launch with six teams, with a season opening not long after the next draft.

“The AAF provided proof of concept for a spring league with attendance, viewership, and the successful transition by some players to the National Football League,” MLFB president and CEO Frank Murtha said in a press release.By opening the season in early May, the league will give players an opportunity to get additional practice, to gather film, and show the NFL scouts and coaches why they deserve to play on the NFL level. MLFB will provide the NFL with another source of valuable players.”

MLFB plans to take it slow, and to be careful with expenditures. The new league claims that the purchase of AAF equipment has saved nearly $2 million.

“We are committed to long-term financial sustainability,” Murtha said.” This purchase is a great example of that responsible mindset.”

MLFB is a publicly-traded company. Ultimately, the goal will be to provide a return on the investment made by those who own shares in the business. Apparently, that process will begin by May — barring another postponement.

Watching them play the Roughnecks now, wow Jones threw 3 INTS so far in the first Quarter (ok one was not his fault). Rooting for the guy though. Why the Steelers kept him so long don't know why. Kept saying he knew the system, yeah but couldn't execute it.
