Would you consider Jack Nicholson kind of a goth icon? I'm being serious. Jack became famous by starring as eccentric characters in dark, depressing environments, but often played with the darkness with a devilish grin. His past flame, Angelica Houston, looks gothic in appearance and played Morticia Adams. What do you think? |

It would be interesting if you'd explain your thinking. Oddball characters?? One flew over the cuckoos nest? The Shining? As the Penguin in one of the Batmans? And? Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Well, in his early career, Jack played characters that were doomed from the beginning and would never really get anywhere (e.g. Five Easy Pieces) hence he went through his trials with an appreciation for the fact that life isn't always roses. That's kinda dark in itself?
I may be overthinking this (I certainly don't "have a lot of time on my hands"). Maybe Jack was in some dark movies like Batman and The Shining, but maybe it's just that - it is evil but not goth. |

He was in a many upbeat, romantic comeical movies. He comes from a generation of actors that were very fluid in their ability. Time keeps on slipping into the future...
