New episodes stream weekly The story takes palce 5 years after Return of The Jedi, It follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter. So i watched episode 1 & 2 There is no familiar star wars theme music. The CGI looked a little clucky on a few parts. Its like they zoomed out far so you cant see much detail, but i get it, im being picky A toon of familiar creatures The Bounty Droid IG-11. We finally get to see one in action!

The Mandalorian is scheduled to premiere its first episode on November 12, 2019, on the streaming service Disney+, in the United States,[11] in 4K HDR. The Mandalorian is an upcoming American space-opera web television series scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on November 12, 2019. Set in the Star Wars universe, the series will take place a few years after the events of Return of the Jedi and follows a lone Mandalorian gunfighter beyond the reaches of the New Republic. Jon Favreau served as a writer, creator, and showrunner and will executive produce alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, and Werner Herzog star. There will be eight episodes in the first season. Star Wars: The Mandalorian takes place a few years "after the fall of the Empire[a] and before the emergence of the First Order" and follows "a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic".
live-action Star Wars TV series entered production in early 2009, with over 50 scripts produced by 2012, but due to their complex content, they were deemed too expensive to produce.[12] Its title was to have been Star Wars: Underworld.[13] In January 2013, following the 2012 sale of Lucasfilm to The Walt Disney Company, then-president of the ABC television network Paul Lee spoke to the current status of the series commenting that "We'd love to do something with Lucasfilm, we're not sure what yet. We haven't even sat down with them. We're going to look at [the live-action series], we're going to look at all of them, and see what's right. We weren't able to discuss this with them until [the acquisition] closed and it just closed. It's definitely going to be part of the conversation."[14] In June 2014, more details regarding the series were revealed, including that Boba Fett would have appeared.

I thoght the first episode was a bit slow, The action picked up at the end. It looks like episodes will bearly run 30/40 minutes long. Its like they are trying to ballance it out story and action. Theres a ton of familiar Star Wars universe creatures and new ones (new to my eyes) We finally get to see The Bounty Droid IG-11 in action! That was pretty cool The big reveal is what really pulled me in Then i wanted more
I wont spoil the ending, but it seems to be all over the net I enjoyed episode 2. We get to see more of some famillar species.
I hear season 2 is already filming, but does that i have to wait another year to watch I will take my place, In the great below

Even if this Mandalorian is killed or diminishes, since there is a whole planet/country of Mandalorians, it could be cool to just pick up the story of another one or two for each season

I´m surprised that this Mandalorian is a bounty hunter, too. I thought Boba Fett is wearing a typical Mandalorian soldier outfit but I wasn´t aware that there are more Mandalorians who wear almost the exact same suit and have the same job. Kinda takes away the mystique of Boba Fett. But that probably had been demolished with the prequels anyway. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I'm in the UK so had to watch it via "other" means ... apparently there's some BS rule that streaming services have to have minimum 30% content made in that region in order to operate there, so 30% of content on Disney Plus needs to have been made in Europe before it can be launched there ... mad! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

I think with SW fans it didn't effect Boba Fetts mystique. I don't know if him being a clone makes a difference from my understanding he isn't a Mandalorian proper, because he was not raised on the homeworld or in the culture and taught directly the Mandalorian ways. He 'father' was killed before he wasn't able to give him much instruction. He was then taken under wing by a rouge bountry hunter who was trained as a Jedi but turned dark. . In Episode II, [Boba Fett] saw his father murdered by Mace Windu, however he's still got a long way to go before he becomes the battered bounty hunter we know so well. Aurra's an influence, and not much of a nurturing parental figure – so that plays a part, as well. She preys on his weakness, on his desire for a family. It's pretty dysfunctional, and it sheds an interesting light on both Aurra and Boba. Ultimately, though, Boba's always been a mystery. As much as we reveal, we're not going to take the mystery away from his fans. Not knowing all the answers about Boba is part of what makes him so cool. According to one of the cartoons (Clone Wars I think) Jango was not a Mandalorian. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I think it is supposed to be put to rest at some convention
There was a video game Star Wars 1313 that was to include an 'Art of...' book and a novel that told more of Boba Fetts dark days
https://screenrant.com/st...ndalorian/
To some, this will seem like an unnecessary line of dialogue--basically throwing out Jango Fett's entire expanded universe history. But in the show's defense, it was George Lucas himself who first made the call to do exactly that. The longtime Clone Wars director Dave Filoni made no secret of the fact that George Lucas informed him the Fetts were not Mandalorian, no matter what stories the expanded Star Wars universe had come up with. So as disappointing as it may be to accept, this Clone Wars confirmation that Jango Fett only looks like a Mandalorian is hard to dispute (without disputing Lucas personally... and he did invent the entire thing).
On the one hand, Jango being a true Mandalorian wouldn't actually make Boba one by default. In the version of Mandalore explored in the now-Legends comics, novels, and video games, the culture wasn't like most in the Star Wars galaxy (or our own). If a man, woman, or any other being wanted to become a Mandalorian, they could--no matter what family, planet, or species they came from. So the explanation for Boba Fett not being Mandalorian is even simpler, because... he never became one.

Yeah now I have to get that for Christmas now

This would explain why Jango took his helmet off in the prequels. Doesn´t that go against the real Mandalorians´ rules ? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Interesting. But.....regardless of what that guy says, the prequels DID destroy a lot of the mystery that surrounded the good ol´ Boba Fett from The Empire Strikes Back. . Can you believe that at some early stage he was supposed to be Darth Vader´s brother ? Sometimes it boggles the mind how many times Lucas changed his initial storyline. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

it seems to be a rule but it makes no sense. the never take them off? Yeah that is not a thing. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It does sound stupid and very unrealistic. How do they eat ? Sleep? Kiss? I understand that this is meant as not taking your helmet off in front of strangers, but still..... It does sound a bit unhealthy, too. Then again, we almost never get to see any stormtroopers without helmet, so there´s that. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

meh I could not finish EP 4....maybe tomorrow? But they did clear something up... but I got about 1/2 way and turned it off "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Fisnished it so it follows the same basic pattern... he meets someone... there is some tension and they work it out and he relies on some else for help... this ep seemed slower that the others... but it had a decent ending. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

yeah I guess the mystery cannot remain that way forever. And a lot of mystery in Empire still.

The helmet thing and “only one at a time in public” thing seem to be a survival code as a result of the great purge .. not so much a goofy old tradition

The original Boba Fett character was loosely based on Clint Eastwood´s acting and mannerism in The Good, the Bad, the Ugly and fans loved that mysterious bounty hunter but these days , that whole Boba Fett/Jango Fett/Mandalorian mysterious aura seems to disappear slowly but surely. Then again, at least they brought back that wild west vibe that the original Boba had. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

In retrospect I'm kind of glad the show does not use the familiar star wars fanfare music.
I'll tell you why We have Disney +, so I started to watch Star Wars Rebles. Yes its animated But hearing that familiar star wars music playing over and over gets annoying [Edited 12/11/19 21:59pm] I will take my place, In the great below

djThunderfunk said: I love the show, but, the fobs are certainly the dumbest part. If bounty hunters had fobs during the original trilogy then Han would have been captured much earlier. No? Not to mention, how would the rebels have ever been able to have hidden bases? The Empire would just need a fob on for one rebel and they'd have them. Ughh!r Damn! You are right fobs sound kind of lame. Maybe they only work when you are in close proximity? I will take my place, In the great below
