From what I read they don't have this as an option.

Thought it seemed odd though, can anyone confirm?

How could it NOT be an option? It's streaming. As long as all the previous episodes are still available, what' stopping you?

Yeah, I don't understand how that's not an option? Are episodes removed from the service when the next one goes live or something?

I don't have D+ but I am sure this is not the case.
Of course you can wait till the season is over to subscribe and binge watch.

Why, will the system grey out all uploaded episodes until a week after you’ve seen the previous one?

lol

Just signed up as it only went live in New Zealand today.

First thing I noticed is that we have Solo in our region. Woohoo. Only missing Last Jedi.

So I talked to someone who has it and they said it's just keep it week to week for the first viewing, after you've watched them it's no longer restricted.

Still seems weird to me...

I don’t know what you mean. They release one episode per week to the platform right. Just like how ALL TV used to be and much still is. If you wait until the season has all been uploaded, you can binge watch it right.

Since the service just started a week ago, how this person know this already?

I don't believe it for a minute. I'm calling B.S.

Talking to a friend who signed up for 3 years in advance for a discounted rate.

Just to clarify, I'm referring specifically to the Madalorian, they are releasing 1 episode per week and do not let you binge the whole season. After the week has passed, you can go and watch the previous episodes but you can't watch the next one.

My friend's opinion is that they are doing this to try to build up hype for each episode (like T.V. used to do)

I could see that strategy backfiring in this day and age... The whole point of paying to see a show is to have it available to watch whenever the consumer wants to.

This is why I thought it was an odd move on their part. Today I read that members data has been breached.

Seem to be off to a rocky start but they have more money than problems so...

The episodes are weekly, scheduled over 8 weeks. So right now, you can't binge it.

Are you saying that if you join later, say 6 weeks from now, you STILL can't binge it?
This is what I thought you were saying, and why I didn't believe it.

Now, I'm not so clear what you are saying.

No, you can binge all previously released episodes whenever you want. There’s nothing novel about this at all. Some shows are released all at once and some are weekly. I don’t know why this is an issue. It’s hardly new.

Just watched the 1960 Swiss Family Robinson with my 11 year old nephew. I had really fond memories of it as a kid but watching it now? Oh man, gratuitous animal cruelty really jumps out at you. The kid was horrified (proud uncle) but how could we not see it decades ago!
