Yeah, I don't understand how that's not an option? Are episodes removed from the service when the next one goes live or something?

I don't have D+ but I am sure this is not the case.
Of course you can wait till the season is over to subscribe and binge watch.

Just to clarify, I'm referring specifically to the Madalorian, they are releasing 1 episode per week and do not let you binge the whole season. After the week has passed, you can go and watch the previous episodes but you can't watch the next one.

My friend's opinion is that they are doing this to try to build up hype for each episode (like T.V. used to do)

I could see that strategy backfiring in this day and age... The whole point of paying to see a show is to have it available to watch whenever the consumer wants to.

This is why I thought it was an odd move on their part. Today I read that members data has been breached.

The episodes are weekly, scheduled over 8 weeks. So right now, you can't binge it.

Are you saying that if you join later, say 6 weeks from now, you STILL can't binge it?
This is what I thought you were saying, and why I didn't believe it.

No, you can binge all previously released episodes whenever you want. There’s nothing novel about this at all. Some shows are released all at once and some are weekly. I don’t know why this is an issue. It’s hardly new.
