I know who Brian McKnight is. He's that dude who had that single out back in the early 90's called "One Last Cry". I like the song a lot, but Brian is kinda whiny when he sings. On the positive side, at least now you know not to buy any CDs of McKnight's.

Brian McKnight's career has definately slowed down. Keith Sweat's career is all but over.

Brian McKnight deserves points for traveling the road less traveled amid today's R&B singers by writing about real-life, sophisticated adult themes in lieu of sex, alcohol, money and flashy cars that even he can't afford. And he even plays a decent guitar. If he honed his skills, he's got the makings of a truly respectable artist. Unfortunately, his songs are too melodramatic, and he DOES whine -- it totally robs his work of its enjoyability.

He pissed me off a couple years ago by directly lifting a keyboard pass from MeShell Ndegeocello's "Outside Your Door" for his song "Anytime." He's a lot better than that, and it was disappointing.
