I watched Batman (1989) last night to celebrate the occasion. My husband had never seen it in its entirety before either so that was another reason to watch it. Great movie. I love Tim Burton's version of the story and Michael Keaton has never been bettered as the caped crusader. Not to mention Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Never has an actor been so perfectly cast.

Batman 1989 was definitely geat for its time, and the best of the Burton films. The opening theme is iconic and Burton's vision of Gotham was spot on - a darker version of NYC turned in on itself. My two minor gripes were having a young Joker being the murderer of the Waynes. And taking down an armoured Batplane with a pea shooter? C'mon, lol. I'd rank Keaton's Dark Knight aclose third behind Affleck(in BvS) and Bale.
Batman is DC's greatest superhero, IMO. He knows the weaknesses of every other hero and has the technology to take them down. A de-powered Superman couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. Batman has fighting skills.
