Possession (1981) - A woman starts exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior after asking her husband for a divorce. Suspicions of infidelity soon give way to something much more sinister.

I saw this for the first time at a local screening and was thoroughly perplexed. The acting was hyper-melodramatic and a few scenes were total bonkers. Reading about the movie afterward makes the plot sound a lot more coherent than what I experienced initially so knowing this film is very highly regarded, I'll give it another try soon. 2.5/5

Mary Magdalene (2018)

Rooney Mara is good in whatever she's in, and was fantastic in the role of Christ's defamed-but-key disciple. A genuinely fantastic performance from Joaquin Phoenix as Christ -- perhaps the best since Robert Powell in Jesus of Nazareth.

Chiwetel Ejiofor gives a wonderfully strong performance as Peter, and Tahar Rahim gives a touching, multi-dimensional performance as Judas. The film is wonderfully directed, and exquisitely written until the end, which attempts to cure the defamation of Magdelene by defaming Peter to make a larger point about the marginalization of women in Christianity.

Overall, I was truly moved by how Christ was written and acted in this film. The overall messages were memorable.

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) - In the Iranian ghost-town Bad City, a place that reeks of death and loneliness, the townspeople are unaware they are being stalked by a lonesome vampire.

This Iranian vampire western is an incredibly beautiful work of art. 5/5

Dolemite and The Human Tornado. Well - you just gotta watch 'em yourself. The former is on YouTube, and both are on Prime.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
