How does one commit suicide when you are on suicide watch in a Manhattan jail cell?

I bet many wellknown people are kind of relieved now.

It still boggles the mind that he had so many celebrity friends who claim not to have known what was going on.

I heard today on NPR that he may not have been on suicide watch.

ISLIJAG: I have a question for you:

• Can the lawsuits continue though he is deceased? And could victims receive compensation from his estate?
• Many documents have been brought to life and other prominent men have been mentioned, can the prosecuters continue investigating them? (I would imagine so)

I can only speak for UK high security jails, but I'm assuming it is similar in the US. There are different levels of risk of suicide - these come with various times for checking the inmate, i.e. every 10 mins, every 20 mins etc..., if it is very serious they can literally have someone sat watching every minute through a glass door. But suicide watch is expensive, time-consuming and requires a lot of paperwork. It also does nothing to allow the inmate time to adjust and accept their new 'home'. Therefore regular, often daily, meetings are had to determine if an inmate should still be on suicide watch, and if so what level it should be at. My guess is that if this is a straightforward suicide then he's been biding his time, counting how often the checks are, then took his chance. Of course he may well have acted like he wasn't a risk anymore to get taken off suicide watch, inmates are very good at manipulating people.

There is always the possibilty given his high profile that someone at some level has been paid to reduce the risk of suicide, or for him to be recorded as checked when he wasn't. I'm sure this will be investigated, even if it is not reported. Obviously there will also be other conspiracies floated about.

The suicide watch ended July 30th. He claimed that the original alleged attempt was an assault, that he was beaten up and called a child predator. So they weren't sure if the marks was because of that "attack" or because he attempted suicide. They did psychological assessments on him daily and then took him off of suicide watch at the end of July.

I suspect Epstein was killed. The question was who killed him? Epstein had broken bones in his neck. When someone hangs themselves carotid arteries in the neck, which supply blood to the brain, are compressed, and the brain swells. I'm gonna guess this was a low hanging. Which means Epstein body thrashed around a bit for he died, there are common patterns marks around the neck also. Sunday NYT newspaper reported a friend who went to visit Epstein said, 'He didn't attempt suicide he was beaten up.'
