I just found out that my nephew was murdered. He's the third son of one of my sisters to die. All her male kids are now dead..... I also have one more sister that lost a son to violence.

So, really no thoughts towards me. Even though they all were my nephews, because of various factors, i never really spent a lot of time with them. My heart still hurts like a Mfer though....anyway, send your thoughts, prayers, well wishes etc, to Lorrie, and the rest of the Smith families...

Wow, this is awful. I'm so sorry to hear about the tragedies in your family.

The gun violence in many cities is so out of control. I live in Toronto and we had 17 people shot over the past weekend. It was a long weekend for us and there were many concerts, parades and other such things going on, but this is just too much. It's the gangs causing all of this shit and something needs to be done. I don't have the answers, but I believe harsher jail sentences might curb it somewhat (our laws in Canada are way too lenient) and of course more opportunities for youth that will help them stay away from this type of life.

So sorry to hear about your loss. The gun violence has been going on for so many years. I remember living in Savannah and hearing about the killings and then lived in Oakland for many years and witnessed the same thing. I don't know what the solution is.

So, i can't even begin to comprehend what my sister is going through. I talked to her and although she's holding up, i know she's suffering. Just imagine, losing your three oldest children to murder.


@PeggyO. Yes, Oakland is BAD. That's where two of my nephews were killed. Terrance, in West Oakland. And William, in East Oakland(Seminary).

I'm so sorry for those who lost their loved ones.
