8 Days: To the Moon and back

Did anyone watch this tonight? It was an excellent show.

'Using dramatic reconstruction, declassified cockpit audio recorded by the astronauts themselves and film archive, this is the untold story of the first moon landing.'

Special days fast approaching!

Launch date - July 16th

Moon landing - July 20th

Recovery date - July 24th

Pardon the pun, but we're having an out-of-this-world celebration in Houston. I bet where ever you are, there will be something special too!

I went to an exhibit about a month or so ago. There's so much detail I've never read about. I've been making up for it.

Duran Duran to Host Moon Landing 50th Anniversary Concert

Stephanie Pistel
Duran Duran

On July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 made its historic launch, which led to the first two people landing on the Moon. On the 50th anniversary, Duran Duran will be hosting a concert in celebration at the Rocket Garden at Kennedy Space Center Visitor.

Duran Duran take the stage at 10:30 p.m. on July 16, following a set from DJ Evalicious. For a special flair, part of the show will be accompanied by a drone art performance by Studio Drift. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the STEAM education programs of the non-profit Aldrin Family Foundation.
