And? ESPN also had a horse on their list of the greatest ATHLETES of the century. Let's not talk about ESPN.

Danny Ainge was whining about non-fouls committed against the Lakers half the night, but you're conveniently forgetting about John Thompson catching Ainge in his tracks when he wouldn't admit to non-fouls called against the Lakers. It's only because the Lakers are the big dogs that people conveniently only see one side of it.

Did you see the 3 point shot where Steve Nash's foot was on the line in the Blazers/Mavericks game that led to a Dallas win?

Did you block out Hudson's double dribble late in the game last night where he fell down and got up that wasn't called?

Did you block out pretty boy Rick Fox's bloody nose - a no foul call? Did you notice Hudson constantly pushing off of Fisher?

See, to me the bottom line is that the Lakers never showed up and got beat. I don't care about those non-calls because of that. The refs had nothing to do with the outcome. I just get sick of people acting like these things only happen in a vacuum for the Lakers.

Why wouldn't the refs take Kobe out? They've taken Shaq out of playoff games. If they take Shaq out they'll take anybody out.

This is partly why I tape these things; so I can replay it and back up what I'm talking about. You should try it sometimes instead of relying on mere talk show hosts who are as apt to get it wrong as anyone else. The only difference is they have a platform.

I watched the game up until they called that

HORRIBLE PHANTOM FOUL

against Wally, on Kobe.
Replays CLEARLY SHOWED that Wally made no contact, but those refs miraculously called the foul.

I haven't seen a phantom call THIS bad since Jordan played for the Bulls.. & he got EVERY POSSIBLE CALL his way, on offense or defense.

BUT, I digress.

It really seems that (for ratings, if nothing else) some people in the NBA simply want to see the Lakers in the Finals every year. Lakers fans: the Lakers certainly merit being in the playoffs, despite their pitiful start. I'm not necessarily a Lakers fan myself, but I'll readily admit that in my opinion, Kobe is right now the best all-around player in the Association.

The Lakers' problem seems to be that they have become rather nonchalant, thinking that they can simply "turn it on" for the playoffs. If they don't watch it, they're gonna be turning it on, alright:

their tv's, to watch BET.

1 small part of me would like to see the Lakers "four-peat", because it would do those preferentially treated Bulls championship teams 1 better.

Otherwise, I'm rooting for Sacramento- like I have the previous 2 years..

I won't be surprised if (the refs allow) the Lakers win the next 3 games in this series, & they move on, likely to face San Antonio.

San Antonio definitely has the guns to beat the Lakers. If the Lakers somehow got past the Spurs, they'd probably get THE KINGS.

THAT is the matchup EVERYBODY (maybe outside of San Antonio or Dallas) wants to see. I'm sure the Kings would never admit this publicly, at the present time..

but you know they want to beat the team that's knocked them out previosly. Just like the Pistons wanted to beat the Celtics, just like the Bulls wanted the Pistons..

If I played for Sacramento, that's what I'd be thinking.

So, yeah.. SAC-LAL III would be a barnburner for the ages..

IF

the Lakers decide that they want to beat someone instead of just showing up & having the game given to them by the refs..

NBA ACTION IS FANTASTIC.
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

This was the worst officiated game I've ever seen. Wally Szczerbiak has a lot of legitimate complaints, as does Kevin Garnett. This is one reason I hate the Lakers- the discrepancy in the officiating was embarassing. Thank God the T-Wolves won, because the Lakers had NO BUSINESS even having a shot to win in regulation. I am completely disgusted, but at least the tradedy of a Lakers win didn't occur. Go Minnesota.
