For those of you who are wondering what is going on with me, I just found out that my position with the company that I have worked with for the last 3 1/2 years is being eliminated. My last day here is April 30th.  
As I mentioned on another thread that I had started, two of my bosses left the company for a better opportunity elsewhere. Then yesterday I was talking to another one of my bosses over the telephone, and he informed me that he had also left the company for a better job. 
In light of three of my bosses quitting the exact same week, and because two of them were vice presidents, my workload is now a lot lighter. I still have two other guys that I work for (actually more like 1 1/2, since the one person is relatively new to the company and does not generate a lot of work yet), but that is not enough to keep me busy, since I am used to working with five people who keep me very, very busy! Because of this, my job is going to be no more, effective May 1st. I already am contacting employment agencies to help me find a new position, as well as searching a local website for a job. I am getting paid for unpaid vacation time (5 days) as well as six weeks severance pay, but am beginning already to look for a job, since I don't know how long it will take to find something I like. Please keep praying so that I find something that I like quickly! I really like where I'm at, and I hate to leave, but as the Prince song says: "Sometimes it snows in April". Ain't that the truth! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |
