Gentleman Jack. (4 of 5 stars). This HBO series grew on me. While I can always appreciate a character who is not conforming to gender roles, it was not that interesting in the early episodes while the main character did not seem vulnerable in any way. Fortunately, that changed over the course of the series.

While searching for the above photo by googling Gentleman Jack photos, the first one that was pulled up was the one below:

Learn things every day wink gentleman jack

Chernobyl (2019) it was both thought provoking and enlightening, with a steller cast led by Jared Harris, I give it a 4.5 out of 5 popcorn a must-watch.

I agree on the thought provoking! I've seen the documentaries with Ludmilla and others. I used to work in commercial nuclear power so it was especially interesting to me.

The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley (2019) I read John Carreyrou's book Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup (2018) last year, so I was familiar with the story about the rise and fall of the firm Theranos, the multibillion-dollar biotech startup headed by Elizabeth Holmes. Directed by Alex Gibney (who also made The Armstrong Lie (2013) which I also highly recommend) I found this comprehensive overview of the scandal to be shocking, fascinating and entertaining at the same time. However, it also made me wonder what charismatic entrepreneur is making fools of investors right now? hmmm I give this a 4.5 out of 5 popcorn and I bet someone in Hollywood will make a film out of this too. Jennifer Lawrence would make a great Elizabeth Holmes nod

Unbanned: The Legend of AJ1 (2018) is about the evolving story of the Air Jordan 1, and its role in birthing the sneaker culture. I give this a 4.5 out of 5 popcorn because it brought back alot of great memories, and because along with Stan Smith's, Jordans are my all-time sneakers. In fact my first pair were the Jordans IX (1994) (which I got after watching the movie Space Jam (1996).

The End of the Fucking World. 5/5 Second time round watching this for us. I loved it the first time, and I loved it even more the second. Dark, really dark, but very funny (in my warped sense of humour way), and with short episodes that mean you can easily binge watch the lot. This is brilliantly cast and cleverly written. Highly recommended.

i generally avoid series because i don't like making the kind of time commitment to one thing that most of them require, but i can absolutely handle 8 20 minute episodes, & rt's summary starts with the word 'misanthropy' so i suspect it's going to be just my kinda thing. thanks!

I've only seen the pilot of Euphoria starring the girl from the Spiderman movies. Even though it's about the lives about high school kids it's so dysfunctional and dark I think I love it. I'll only go 3.5/5 since it could go all south and typical next episode.

I watched it too. Scary that there are quite a few kids as lost as those focused on. Interesting, but unnerving if you have teenagers. I hear it will be slightly less shock driven in later episodes, so I might keep watching.

Yeah my kids are adults but i feel for the parents of this generation, so much more to be aware of.

I caught epi 2, they took it up a notch. I think it scared me at this point. Definitely not cookie cutter characters, multilayered quite 3 dimensional complicated people

The Handmaids Tale
I always thought it looked boring from the trailers, but watched a couple of episodes and got hooked. It's SO binge-worthy. Watched 2 seasons in a couple of weeks. Season 3 is off to a great start. Love it.

Killing Eve.
A little far fetched in places, but Jodie Comer does a fantastic job at playing Villenelle the assassin. Just finished watching Series 2. Hope they manage to keep up the good writing if they bring out another series.

Chernobyl.
Episode 1 - yeaaboiii. After that I kept falling asleep. Don't think it was due to the story though. Think it was all the talking. Would have enjoyed it more if I didn't watch it so close to bedtime.

Still Claws, it's like Sons of Anarchy except its a black woman who runs a nail salon, who keeps trying to "fix" mistakes yet keeps getting herself and her crew tangled up deeper into the bs of the criminal world. Over the top craziness. I love it. And with this i can check out the shoes and stuff too. Win win.

Can we talk about how @PoseOnFX played all of the following songs on its latest episode? “My Prerogative” - Bobby Brown “Black Cat” - Janet Jackson “Nasty Girl” - Vanity 6 “Shame” - Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King “Buffalo Stance” - Neneh Cherry And I was dancing through it all.

yeahthat Pose always features amazing songs from that era of the 80s and early 90s that I love music cloud9

X FILES. I just finally watched season 11 and it was a let down after season 10 was so good. Essentially, season 11 starts where 10 left off and suddenly goes into regular episodes without explanation. It disconnects the audience with the story that has been unfolding (the overall story ARC of the series) through out the show's run. They do get back to it, it (The arc storyline) does seemed rushed. I can see why there was no season 12. I give season 11, 5 out of 10 stars.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Ok, 3 episodes in Euphoria definitely has crossed deep into my discomfort zone BUT I must see how these folks ends up. 4/5

Divorce I like 3.5/5 adult stuff.

Years and Years 2 episodes in I like. It's real life spooky. 3/5 A UK family's view of the world after Trump's 2nd term has ended and Pence's 1st term begins.

Yes, Euphoria is intense. I think I half way dissociate the content of the show after seeing it. My kids kept on walking into my room while I was watching it, and I would immediately change channels or pause it, I quickly learned not to pause it because the last episode there were several images of all types of erect penis superimposed, which just would be perfect for it to be frozen image with kids. When did HBO go this far with the penis thing?

Yep they show a lotta penises most are uninteresting. But Kat's storyline is getting to me. After seeing Nate beatdown that guy, I will not stomach him meeting up with Jules, the channel will be changed I won't be able to handle that much helplessness. And Rue's little taste of fentanyl. Every envelope is being dumped off the table. Its good the acting is stellar the subject matter is frightening though. Especially with hs kids.

Stranger Things 3: it is getting darker! Although it is only 8 episodes (with the final about 77 Minutes) it packs a punch and continues the character development well and is able to up the game in terms of the "danger." And an ending that may will make you want to be put into a coma until season 4! (Which I think will be Nov or Dec 2020)
