Does anybody else have loud thoughts?

You know when you are thinking, do you hear your own voice? And are those thoughts sometimes really loud? I mean, does your mind talk to you. You know, random shit that you can't switch off. Like when I'm trying to play soccer or something I can hear my voice saying "You are rubbish! Stop running! What's the point, you're going to lose anyway!"

Do you have a nasty MindTalk or is it positive?

If you could give a name to your Mindtalk or an image what would it be?

Mine would be a crocodile because all those self defeating thoughts are snapping at me. And the croc would be positioned on my shoulder for easy access to talk into my ear.

My MindTalk is usually negative because I worry about peoples opinions of me constantly, other times my mind takes on the opinion of f*** it redface

My MindTalk is almost always positive when I am making people laugh though biggrin
JaneyPoos used to be it... then they changed what it was. Now what I am isn't it and what is it is strange and frightening to me...

I discussed my negative MindTalk with a psychologist and he said to say to it "Thanks for sharing, now FUCK OFF!"

I find that it takes the edge off of the nastiness.

He also said I could buy a positive looking handpuppet to take on the crocodile on my shoulder and speak positive statements into my ear.

Anybody got any ideas what puppet i could buy? I was thinking of a lion or a tiger.

Yeah I think I will and i'll call him Lenny. Lenny the lion. And I'll get Lenny to roar into my ear:

"I refuse to believe that I'm no good at football"

and I'll repeat:

"I refuse to believe I'm no good at football".

Hopefully that'll get rid of the pesky MindTalk. For that day anyway.

Slave2daGroove

It's music that is loud in my head.

After about 12 hours of a song that plays loud (sometimes carried over from my dreams) I've got to figure it out on the guitar and record it.

Yeah I used to get that. I'd be playing football for my school team and instead of concentrating on tackling the winger who'd be bearing down on goal I'd be consumed by the opening riff of Let's Go Crazy. That damn MindTalk got me stripped of the captaincy of the team and within a year I was relegated to the 2nd XI.

Damn that MindTalk. mad

Man you need to get yourself some L.Ron Hubbard Dianetics shit and deprogramme those MindTalk bugs with an auditing machine.

That's what I did.

Sorry, did someone say something?
