I'm hoping they get bamboozled (or false alarmed in general) and what's left will have to trek to King's Landing to finish the NK. Zombies rising from the crypt would be fun too though

A theory is that the Knight King isn't at Winterfell, he is going to Kings Landing, and his army will be the people he takes in the towns on the way...

Sounds interesting. Yet they use Bran as bait? He feels him coming. So, I don't think that will happen.

Although, the crip will be rocking with all the starks coming back to kill everyone.

The previous 3rd eye raven says a warger can get trapped in the past. If Bran attempts to go back to point when the children of the forest created the Night King, to prevent it happening, and wargs into the man that becomes the night king, like he did Hodor, then he could remain trapped as the consiousness of Night King. If, in the present, Bran lets the Night King come after him and kill him, then it could stop the Night King.

Equally, he could be the one that created the Mad King, much like he effected Hodor.

I don't think they will go there, but thats a theory.

One thing I think that will happen...they made a big point that the Crypt is the 'safe place' in Winterfell. I think the Night king will fly over and raise the dead Starks in the crypt who will wipe out many holed up there.

I also like the idea that the Night King will fly on and smash Kings Landing instead. Interestingly, the new opening make a point of a dragon giant crossbow being in Kings landing.

Some have said that the Starks are buried with swords for a reason. If those swords are Valerian Steel or Dragon's Glass that would kill the whitewalkers.
