I think the Skywalker who is rising is Rey herself. I think Kylo Ren was full of shit and that Rey actually is a somebody. Possibly even his sister. I think she will rise up as a full on Jedi Master and kick the fuck out of Kylo

I think Kylo and Rey seem to polars of the same strength force wise. So, Rey could have been a clone twin given away at birth

Not sure about the clone, but interesting take as well hmmm

I still think Snoke was the face of the empire, but really was the apprentance of the Emperor who pulled the strings behind the empire. That is why Kylo needed Snoke out of the way.

I like this thumbs up!

Now if the Emperor did live he most likely have an apprentance? hmmm

Yoda said "there is always 2, a master and apprentance no more no less"

With Snoke out the way that leave 2. Assuming the Emperor lived

I also have another theroy. probably far fetched lol

Shimi Skywalker, Anakins mother gave birth to him with no apparent father.
It was pretty clear that he was the work of Darth Sidious via Midicholorian manipulation.

What if Rey is the work of The Emperor or Snook? And thats why we hear here parents are no one?

Im not buying that though lol

typos fix

in TFA Kylo was very intrested in "what girl" helped the droid steal a frighter... but he had no reaction to the ship being the same type as his father's.

old but still a silly defense. we had expectations when Empire came out, yet hardly aynthing was fulfilled. did I expect Han to be frozen? did I expect DV beeing Lukes father? did I expect giant metal dinosaurs? did I expect a small green swamp troll to be a Jedi master? no. no. and no. YET I WAS BLOWN AWAY by the movie

the problem is not to give what people expect. the problem is that things were build up in TFA and then simply dropped. the problem is Kathleen Kennedy HAD NO LARGER PLAN. she went for a creator/director driven approach for each single movie, so the same shit that turned the DC movie universe into an inconsitent clusterfuck

Presuming you are not a senior citizen, I'm guessing that you, like me, were a kid when V dropped. In hindsight, V followed the old serial formula, so the cliffhangers were predictable. But the big reveal was not. And you're right -- it was part of a larger plan that Lucas had, because at the time, we had no idea what we were watching was a Skywalker Saga built around the main antagonist. A neat twist on the old serial.

There is a legitimate argument regarding continuity because Rian Johnson was given complete creative control over the middle movie, and it didn't appear to quite create the bridge from VII to IX that V did from IV to VI.

But thematically, V was a departure from IV, much like VIII was from VII. And we DON'T KNOW THE ENDGAME YET. Leave at least some possibility that continuity will be maintained in the context of the movie you haven't seen yet.

And VIII had an even more overarching purpose than we might think -- to get the fanboys, many of whom are closer to AARP eligibility, to rethink the mythology they think they know so well. Honestly, I'm with Emma -- we weren't comfortable with "them" messing with "our" saga.

On its own merits, I think the film was an allegory for middle age, and honestly, I think there was more poignancy in this film (which had significant issues) than the prequels or Jedi.

I agree with the bolded parts as well. 7 went nowhere. 8 dealt with a lot of issues. Some worked others didn’t, but it’s far more memorable. The prequels, as bad as they are, at least were ambitious in every way. It ushered in how most movies are made today. The look and feel of most Marvel films have the same exact aesthetic as the prequels especially attack of the clones and revenge of the Sith. George Lucas may have fumbled storytelling and script writing in the prequels, but he was ahead of its time the way films are made today. Shot digitally on a green screen stage with everything CGI.

Although it would make more sense for the Death Star in the teaser to be Death Star II, the dish is clearly Death Star I....or a big continuity error.

Or the trailer is playing with us and they will swap it out for the movie... or it is a Roge One shot that will not be in the movie?

I think size of remains. The second death star was considerable larger than the first. The shape of the dish indicate (at least to me) as being the smaller of the two.

I very much doubt that Avatar 2 will make anywhere near the kind of money that the first one made but it should still do pretty good business. And Star Wars is almost guaranteed to be a success, just so long as they avoid the negative pre-release press that killed Solo. So Disney seem to be set to make massive, MASSIVE amounts of money over the next few years. Especially when you add Pixar and the next phase of the MCU to the mix. Good times for Mickey and pals.

DSI had double line around the rim around the weapon (like in the new trailer).

DSII did not have the double rim line.

It's really obvious if you put them up against each other.

Just went to look and I think you're right! Now I'd be a little less surprised if they're in fact on the search for kyber crystals or a sith holocron (belonging to vader.) In the EU, there were temples on Yavin 4 that had sith backstory, perhaps they weave some of that in too? Excited to see what they do with this.

The choreography is spectacular - it's similar to the duel on Mustafar. You can feel Vader's rage during the fight as those memories come back to him. I was 16 when I saw Star Wars back in 1977. I guarantee you, I would 've flipped if the scene was like this.

This short clip SHITS on The Last Jedi.

It sure is good. Just wouldn't have fit in with the rest of the style of the movie. It would stand out as cool and slick-making the rest of the film look outdated and slow.

So in the beginnig of the teaser is she training with the person in the Tie Fighter?

yes, and my guess it that it's Kylo Ren

notice the position Rey has at 0:56 being very simlilar to this:

Kylo-Ren-Pose.jpg

might be a coincidence but with JJ I highly suspect it's intentional

my guess: Rey will most likely turn out to be a Skywalker in some form, and by joining forces with Kylo, joining good and bad, light and dark, Jedi and Sith, finally fulfill the prophecy and bring balance to the force

so Anakin might be the chosen one after all, but not him personally but his light and dark offspring will conclude the circle, resulting in "Skywalker" to replace/merge Jedi & Sith. could also be a small (undeserved) nod to Rian Johnson TLJ ("Let the past die" "It's time for the Jedi to end") by removing Jedi & Sith from the future of SW. a possible attempt to at least squeeze that clusterfuck movie into the overall story arc somehow.

also consider the titles of all third trilogy parts:
ROT Sith
ROT Jedi
TRO Skywalker

so Skywalker from now on will be more than just the name of a single family

maybe I'm totally off, but if I were in JJs place, that would be my rough outline to conclude the full saga
