What’s the story behind your screen name? What’s the story behind your screen name? So many interesting ones here. I found myself wondering, looking at posts. I chose mine as when I first heard cold coffee and cocaine I pondered the fact that the closest to coke i ever want to be is the beverage kind - and I am powered most of my work day by cold coffee ... and Coca Cola. Both litter my desk.

Mine= I was highly motivated by the rights and concerns of a little celebrated song by Prince from the film BAMBOOZLED.
Thought it would be obvious to folks here as well. Picking something Prince themed was always going to be a part of it. The film's a good mashup of contemporary wannabe stuff (*pursued in DO THE RIGHT THING) with whites adopting so much black culture but not facing the realities of black city life they're copying and NETWORK/A FACE IN THE CROWD. The film barely holds its contempt. It was a great one I enjoyed the film and it's soundtrack very well. Introduced me to India Arie, Goodie Mob and then unreleased and powerful Stevie. I intend to get stronger towards the aim of artistic integrity and self retention. It espoused a lot [Edited 4/4/19 17:29pm] ♫"Trollin, Trolling! We could have fun just trollin'!"♫

I had my name or rather the interpetation of my name removed never to be used online again so I came up with something off the top of my head that wouldn't require me using numbers. Not vety poetic is it? Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Was beginning to discover unreleased Prince at the time I showed up here (I think that's how I came across this place to begin with ) n the part in Extra Loveable, "Purple politicians, say it!", it wasn't taken . For all time I am with you, you are with me.

Nothing too exciting with my name. When my sister was 2/3 years old, she couldn't say "Brenda" and called me "benni". When I first got internet, it was after my first Prince concert in 1998 (Hit and Run - Collinsville, Illinois) and I'd been a closet fan for a very long time, so I didn't know a whole lot about Prince and wanted to find out more about him. My boyfriend at the time (who took me to the concert) encouraged me to get the internet. I found the Love4OneAnother website, read it for a few days and then found the chat (The Holy River). I debated what name to use; should I use something Prince related, should I make up a name? I finally just decided to be me, "benni". My sister still calls me benni, and she's 47 years old now, and many of the people I met in the River still call me "benni". I've tried out different names over the years; InfiniteHeaven, LittleRedCorvette (first video I ever saw)...but I always come back to "benni" because it just feels like me. You’d have to ask my parents for the full inspiration behind the etymology. You see, it’s my *real* first name! Yeah, glad to meet you. I believe my parents would tell you that I’m partially named after Saint Brendan the Bold from Ireland. According to Irish lore this evangelistic Christian (I profoundly respect people of faith, but this is so not me) some 1500 years ago cut a watery path through the Atlantic choppy all the way to the North American continent. This was, believe it or not, all achieved in a leather boat, shaped not all that unlike a canoe, hundreds of years before Columbus. Yeah, stick that in your green beer next St. Patrick’s Day! I’m certainly no saint — but dammit, we all sail toward boldness, even if most of us never make it out much past the starting dock.

Emma is my name. The McG part comes from my mother's surname "McGrane". My surname was Cunningham (until I got married) and EmmaCun looks too much like EmmaCunt. Therefore, I used my mother's name instead.

"Lammas" is an Anglo spin on an ancient Gaelic festival called "Lughnassad," which marked the harvest at the cusp of summer and fall. "Lammastide" is simply the time of year surrounding this occasion, a favourite time of year for me. [Edited 4/8/19 19:29pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Genesius is the patron saint of actors. But I'm a girl (as well as an actor), so Genesia. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I used to have another one that I got tired of and decided I wanted to pay hommage to Prince's great concerts at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2011, the last time I saw him live (plus the Melkweg a few weeks later.) Some of the best concerts that I've seen.

I wore a purple and white vintage 1950's sundress to my tour of Paisley Park on October 13th 2016. During the tour a staff member popped up from seemingly out of nowhere in the hall of inspiration and said something to the effect of "I've been watching you, and your so cute! You look like a little Purple Dorothy". She meant Dorothy as in the Wizard of OZ. The name has double meaning as I've always admired Dorothy Parker's wit. Now the question is what happens if I find a pair of amethyst slippers and click my heels together three times? "As long as I can hear you smilin' baby
You won't hear my tears."

Here are two pictures for reference. Unfortunately neither photo came out well due to bad lighting. I would like to get at least one good picture at Paisley Park someday...lol.

Been here forever under the name "Slave2daGroove", still one of the many reasons I'm still way into Prince, the groove. Also really into to vinyl so in my late 20s I thought I was being really clever.

prior to the org there was PPML. I was Organgrinder and when PPML closed and the org was introduced, someone took my username so I had to come up with a new one. Was listening to SupaFunkCaliFragiSexy and realized CaliFragi had the same amount of sllyables as Organgrinder, thus Supa was born!! 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

My dad taught himself to work with pre-print programs on both PC and MAC machines in the early nineties. He jokingly referred to himself as PC MacDaddy (PCM are his actual initials)
When I first signed up to the Org in the early noughties I used the MacDaddy part because I had a Mac and couldn't come up with something original.

Kit was my nickname growing up. In 1988, Chaka Khan recorded a song "It's My Party". A part of the song goes, "Kit got lost and I found him all involved. He was wearing a guilty face, had his arms around her waist and lipstick on his face". Well, since all of the kids in school knew I was Chaka's #1 fan, they would tease me and say she was singing about me. On the credits and "Thank You's" of that same album, Chaka thanked Kit Bradley, which I heard was her boyfriend at the time. So I took on the last name Bradley and Kit Bradley has been my alter-ego ever since. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
