So did that guy ever take off in his rocket? That's about how well I'm expecting this "expedition" to take off. A whole lotta lip services and fanfare, a couple of failed attempts, and then nada. Reminds me I need to go look into Mars One stuff.

Well definitely gotta applaud him for going thru with it. Didn't hear him say what his conclusion was though, I guess it's only good science for another group to "test the theory". If they go thru with it, good for them.

I honestly thought Flat Earthers were a rare breed but they are not a species in extinction at all. This type of fauna is endemic to the same territory as the 9/11-was-an-inside-job species. They are dangerous, loud and they DO bite. I suggest everyone gets vaccinated against them just in case. You'll probably step on a burrow of the ever growing Vaccination-is-bad species but it is worth it.

I'm all for letting them try if they are willing.

It hurts my brain that there are people in the world still dumb enough to believe the earth is flat ... I mean, where to even start with that? ...

I worked with a flat earther. I loved getting him to talk about his off the wall beliefs. My favorite is that ALL the first ladies since the 60's are transsexuals.

Now that's a belief I think most of us share. Had Hillary been elected and that, except the "all", would be true for a president as well.

Just out of curiosity, did you ever stop to ponder that maybe that colleague of yours was just taking the piss out of you? Just a thought ya know?

I don't think that most "flat earthers" actually believe that the earth is flat. I think they only say it for attention. Especially people who run youtube channels dedicated to it. It's all about clicks/views with those people and they'll literally say anything for attention.

I'm not sure if that's better or worse ...
