Mariska will also break the record for longest time playing the same live action tv character. Currently it's tied by James Arness (Matt Dillon) and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier Crane) at 20 years. If Benson was spun off from another series that I'm unaware of, it will have already been broken by May.

The second half of the season was better after a slow start, but I found the resolution to the case in the finale to be slightly underwhelming. However, Mahershala Ali is great throughout. And the quick reference to season one was nice although a little misleading. 4/5
This was a second viewing of the previous season before the premiere this weekend. The glaring plot holes are still there, but the long-awaited interactions and reunions among many of the major characters were so satisfying. 4.5/5
