Anatomy Of A Troll - ?

Question: What inspires a person to become a "troll" on message boards like this? I'm not pointing anyone out here, and in fact, it seems relatively troll-free these days.

But seriously, maybe someone on here is a reformed troll and can shed some insight on what kind of thrill or rush trolling brought into your life. Are there books on the topic?

I'm not really pissed off by trollery anymore, as it's just become like finding spam in my e-mail these days...but still, I'm fascinated by this behavior that I can't see any good, bad or ugly reason to act out. Ya don't get money, ya don't get respect, and everyone thinks you're an ass. So what's the attraction?

Thoughts?

TRON

Yes, but wouldn't it be fun to see KellyAnne return? Even if only to see her get banned.

The word "troll" has no equivalent in Orglish. Linguists speculate that it's because the GD is specifically dedicated to what would be considered trolling on many other sites.

I'm still not clear on what a troll is.. and don't say "you!!!" or I'll cry in confusion.
