Maybe you did it wrong. You were supposed to gradually reduce the amount, maybe one less shot at a time, unless you have pressing heart related issues linked to caffeine overdose. 5 cups to zero just like that...that’s like people who think they could become vegan overnight. You’re demanding too much from your body if you didnt see the side effects coming.. [Edited 2/12/19 21:21pm]

I've never drank coffee in my life. Just the smell of it makes me queasy. But I suppose it's like any addiction. If you just quit one day your body is not going to take the change well. If you're on 5 cups per day, reduce it to 4 for a few days, then 3,then 2 and so on until you're off it completely.

Coffee is good for you, as long as you don't fill it up with sugar.

I don't drink coffee, but some time ago I was told to stop drinking tea (not because of caffeine but because of the tannin). I have to say I was/am totally unable to give it up no matter how hard I try - I'm completely addicted. I now just drink it even though I'm not supposed to. I figure I don't smoke, barely drink alcohol, am fit and healthy in every other way, so if tea kills me, so be it.

I agree.Nothing wrong with coffee. If it wasn't for coffee,I wouldn't be able to make it through the day

For real though, I can't drink coffee like I used to; I used to be able to drink it all day--now, it gives me headaches, nervous jitters, and an upset stomach if I do more than one cup Arabica bean only per day. I've cut the coffee down to two or three times a week and switched to herbal teas that have no caffeine and feel a lot better. Lemon Ginger is my favorite... Why did you give up coffee? It's really not necessary if you can keep it to a limit (i.e. 1-2 per day) and go easy on the sugar and cream.

I have an underactive thyroid so I had to give up lots of things like coffee peaches strawberries broccoli sugar bread pasta - it’s horrible 😩 mailto:www.iDon'tThinkSo.com.Uranus

Wow. I have underactive thyroid, the only dietary advice I was given was to try and get some iodine in my diet (or take a supplement). I can understand bread and sugar, but the rest...

Do your self a favour and goodle it - the list of what to avoid is extremely long - I was really surprised when I realised I was making it worse by eating things I thought were good for me! mailto:www.iDon'tThinkSo.com.Uranus

LOL.... I just did. Honestly I wouldn't last five mins doing it. Hats off to you if you can. I'd be interested in the results long term. FWIW, I cut out most processed foods, bread and most dairy last year and have lost almost 50lb in weight. My thyroid tests haven't changed one bit - I did hope there would have been some improvement but there wasn't.

In 1 month I’ve noticed a big improvement in my energy levels and lost 2 kilos 😊 I just need to learn to control the mood swings and work out what I can do for the constant headaches 😕 mailto:www.iDon'tThinkSo.com.Uranus
