Let me just say this re - the Saints. And apologies to any Saints fans here, but this is rough and you probably won't like it:

SCREW THE SAINTS, THEY ARE CHEATERS.

It's true.

If you watched the game, you probably said about 100 times, "Is that a ref's whistle blowing while the play is still going on?" I know I did, and so did everyone else in my house.

But it wasn't a ref's whistle. It's a Saints fan who can imitate a ref's whistle. Very loudly, too - loud enough to make it on TV, over the crowd noise.

I know that bringing a whistle to the game is outlawed. I can't see how imitating a ref's whistle is kosher. It's the same thing. But the Saints not only know about it, they condone it.

That's cheating. No debate. It's cheating.

So screw the Saints. And screw their head coach, who is a cheater in every sense of the word. Dude moved training camp to another state so he could be with his mistress.

We all know the Patriots have gotten in trouble for cheating, but there is exactly ONE head coach who's been suspended for an entire season because he's a cheater on the field:

Sean Payton.

So yeah - the Saints got jobbed. And I could not care less.

The defense had enough pieces to perform better than they did throughout the season, and was dominated by the Pats in the first half and down the stretch.

Sutton is just the latest in a horde of experienced coaches that have lost their jobs after facing Belichick's Pats.

The Saints likely lost the game at several points. Here are just a few.

1. In the 1st quarter when they failed to cash in in the red zone, settling for FGs instead of TDs on their 1st 2 possessions, the second of which was set up by an INT that got the ball inside the red zone.

2. An inexplicable pass call on 1st and 10 on LAR's 13 yard line which stopped the clock and then called a timeout after the 2-minute warning in the 4th quarter.

3. NO shouldn't even been have been throwing the ball when the blown PI play occurred. They should have been burning clock with 2 competent RBs in the red zone ready to tote the rock.

4. Brees throws a pick in OT which LAR converts to the winning FG.

It's fine to be mad about that blown PI call. If there's ever been a worse blown call in a conference title game, I don't remember it.

But NO's failure to capitalize early, their playcalling and clock management in the red zone inside the last 2 minutes of the game at home, and their failure to take care of the ball in OT render that blown call meaningless.

An analysis could be done like that for any game of any team with a blown call this year.

Lotta scorn for the Saints here. Imagine the hate if we actually won. I had no idea our coach's sex life made us deserve to lose either, how ridiculous.

I do know one thing. If you ever come to New Orleans to visit, and you should at least once, we will treat you right and you will leave happy. We have the best food, and the best original music and nice people who are cool and creative. If that would have happened in some other cities, cars would have been rolled and burning from all the rage.

I went out to see a great band at a local bar later Sunday evening. Everyone was wearing their Saints gear and enjoying the music anyway. Lassiez les bon temps rouler!

That's true. But that's football, and that's the point.

I don't love the Saints, but I don't hate them. I remember the days with Jim Mora when they got it rolling for a bit with one of the best linebacking corps the game has ever seen. Everyone was pulling for them post-Katrina and I was glad to see their (true) long-suffering fans celebrate a SB win. Bountygate tarnished them, but not peromanently, and Drew Brees is an ambassador for the game.

There's no place like New Orleans. I've been a few times.

We all share the ups and downs of the game. I'm less invested in my favorite team now, so it's great to talk about the NFL as a whole. Believe me, I feel your pain.

Yeah sucks having no Antonio Clown and Leveon Dumb Bell. Have have a feeling Dumb Bell won't be as good with the new team he goes to as when he was with the Steelers. Antonio Clown wants to go to the 49er's. Clown aint going to change that team around and will start being a diva when he doesn't get the ball and when the team starts losing. Dumb Bell is better than Conner IMO, but I think Conner fits the Steelers run game and will do just fine. Still got Ju-Ju and he is a pro bowler for sure. Steelers have a lot of other good wide recievers too so not to worry about the passing game. Bungals will finish last in the AFC North, Browns are now the best team in Ohio lol

We acidentally clicked on the Pro Bowl for exactly one play. This one:

I only watched the play because DeShaun Watson was under center. My mistake. That was the worst play I've ever seen and a complete embarrassment for the NFL. I don't care if it's an "All Star" game - that wasn't football.

I think PIT will be competitive in that division. CLE is still developing, CIN is likely rebuilding, and BAL has QB issues.

Conner can be a primary back, and PIT has proven it can find value in the draft. Ju-Ju is a legit 1.

If Bell grabs the cash from NYJ, he won't be as effective. Brown can help in SF, but Jimmy G isn't on Ben's level and I don't recall SF having a wideout corps that is as good as PIT's.

Very true. That's why I only said he can help SF. That doesn't mean he could make SF into a contender.
