Dear diary,
I fell asleep, no doubt exhausted by the excitement of being a thread debutante. As you know, I was a little apprehensive, as few if any posters seemed to care. I checked out my competition, and they all had VERY tacky and crowd-pleasing titles. With all this worrying, I had a nightmare. I dreamt that I was sinking to the bottow of Page Two, into the abyss of the GD forum. Sinking threads were marning me of what lies beyond Page 3 -- "unspeakable horrors -- threads no one wants to read or even recall! Threads with less than 20 views and three pathetic replies! Threads that were locked in their prime, now condemned to sink with no possibility of bumping ever!" When I woke up, I was SO relieved to discover I was still on Page one. "They love me", I thought, "they really love me!" Even "Christopher" said "I love you" to me, a simple, unpretentious thread! I'm truly heartened. I know I'm not a giant "Post a X about the poster above you" smashing success, but I'm a start. Baby I'm a Start... should be my theme song. I am trembling with fear. A moderator just showed up. What if he thinks I have no topic to speak of? Or that I belong in the Price.Org Discussion Ghetto? So far, he has not indicated or signaled any displeasure. For the new threads out there, a "moderator" is a lot like an omnipotent Chinese mandarin. He can make or break you. It's always a good idea to stay on his good side. | |

Dear Little Generic Thread,
Here is your future. You will get some recognition for originality...from me anyway. 
After that - a couple/few posts... you may even flame! 
However, sadly... you are doomed to die a slow agonizing death, as all threads do (even the very popular "who's the most popular orger" threads have died...eventually). 
As for the diary format... I like it, but alas, dear Anne Frank... you have no worries. |

Holy cow! The mod just asked me to justify my existence! As if . I mean, do people walk around asking each other to justify their existence? NO... they only do that to us and government agencies. I shall soon reply to his insenstive inquiry, but just between you and me, why do I need a topic? Am I not a topic into myself? Dear Diary,
Despite intense moments of self-doubt and a profound sense of nonsense and nothingness, I enjoy being a thread. I've made a few friends and there's even someone who wanted to help and said he was a Witness of something or the other. Somebody sent me a transcription of what I look like on Page One. I was number four at the time! It's a shame that, being a thread, I can't visit other threads and find out. I can only imagine... which is of course what I did (see annotations).
