Justice League: First Look at Amber Heard as Mera

Justice League has unveiled the first images of Amber Heard in full costume as Mera.

DC’s surreal superhero cinematic collaboration Justice League is obviously touting an awesome array of comic book A-listers such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash – and yes, Cyborg and Aquaman. However, when it comes to the latter hero, the battling big-screen bonanza will also provide the debut of a powerful peer spouse and Queen of Atlantis in Mera, played by Amber Heard. Now, the very first look at the actress all decked out in her maritime digs has been revealed!

Indeed, Warner Bros./DC Entertainment unveiled, by way of IGN, an interesting group of images of the underwater royal spouse of Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry/Aquaman in Amber Heard’s Mera, showcasing her signature scaly sartorial aesthetics. Of course, this unveiling of a supporting player is a crucial bit of news, not just for Justice League, but for the 2018 Aquaman solo movie in which Heard's Mera is also set to appear.

The early screener reviews say it's the best DC movie to date.
Some say it's as good as "The Dark Knight". I doubt that though.

quaman: Jason Momoa Confirms Ocean Master is Movie Villain

https://screenrant.com/aq...comic-con/

Jason Momoa has some major villain-related news to share about the Aquamanmovie at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con. Warner Bros.' Hall H panel has just wrapped up, after sharing trailers for both Ready Player One and Justice League(both of which are now available online) as well as some footage from Aquaman. Momoa, however, had one more bit of news to share -- Ocean Master will be the villain in director James Wan's DC Extended Universe solo movie.

The confirmation of Ocean Master as Aquaman's main antagonist wasn't explicit from the footage screened at SDCC, but later on in the panel, Momoa referred to the manta ray-shaped submarines shown attacking a fishing boat as belonging to Ocean Master's army. It's long been rumored that Ocean Master -- A.K.A. Orm, Arthur Curry's Atlantean half-brother and frequent antagonist for the character -- would be the film's main villain, but here it is, straight from the King of Atlantis' mouth.

Some may have even considered Patrick Wilson's casting as Orm as confirmation of the character appearing in Aquaman, but there was always a possibility that WB would wait and use Wan's film to set-up that sibling rivalry, before having Orm develop into a full blown villain in a later installment. However, it sounds like Aquaman will instead focus heavily on the conflict between the brothers, depicting the struggle between them as they fight for their right to rule Atlantis as its king.

Both Arthur and Orm's connection to the throne of Atlantis stem from their mother, Queen Atlanna. Arthur was her first child, but being that he was half-human, she was forced to leave him with his father, Thomas Curry, the lighthouse keeper with whom she had fallen in love. She then returned to Atlantis where she married and had a second child, Orm. In DC Comics' New 52 continuity, Atlanna dies of mysterious circumstances and Orm, now an adult, is crowned King of Atlantis. But it isn't long before Arthur -- now operating as Aquaman and having since learned that he is the true heir -- challenges Orm for the throne after learning his brother intends for Atlantis to invade the surface world.

So Goblin's in DC now lol Now they invest in origin stories...lil too late! And god already that moving under water CGI looks terrible. That the best they could do? No visible means of motioning in water. I'm sure Mamoa's gonna do a great job but SKIP!

Goblin?

Black Manta is 1/2 villians in the movie

I only heard the opposite of Justice League before it came out and the first reviews of it said it sucked but was a little step in the right direction as they put it. I just thought it sucked lol
Zack Snyder keeps on posting pictures and art from the movie that shows it was a huge epic movie with a big story and then he left/WB fired him and Joss Whedon shot shitty scenes and made a shit movie out of it even tho there was perfectly good material that was already shot and enough for 2 movies of the planned 3 movies, so sad.

In fairness to Joss Whedon, I don't think we should be too hard on him. I can't imagine it's easy to come on board after a movie has been shot and try to reshoot it to suit the studio's requirements. Plus, Zack Snyder's original movie probably wouldn't have been great to begin with anyway. Man of Steel was decent but a bit boring and Dawn of Justice was almost ruined by the entire Doomsday storyline.

Oh well, I think both Man of Steel and BvS are better than any Marvel movie (which are mostly cheesy and childish Joss Whedon like drivel) even tho they have some really good ones (Iron Man 1, Black Panther and Captain America: Winter Soldier) but mostly lame ones. Whedon was the one who brought in Danny Elfman with his corny score and use of (his) dated themes that just didn't fit after the huge and pretty grand score of Hans Zimmer and JunkieXL and his reshoots were just bad.
But anyway as with any DC movie since Justice League I'll be downloading Aquaman and any other new DC movie and watch them for free like I do most with Marvel movies. lol

I think we've talked about this before but I actually think that the best thing about the Justice League was its use of the real Batman and Superman themes. The definitive take on Batman was the animated series and that used Danny Elfman's Batman theme. And the John Williams Superman theme is iconic and instantly recognisable. Not using it is like a James Bond movie not using the James Bond theme. I've seen Man of Steel 5 times and I wouldn't even be able to hum the Superman theme from it. If it even has one. Joss Whedon's more comedic style isn't for everyone, and even I don't think he's a good fit for Batman, but I don't think his choice of music was among The Justice League's many problems.

I'll still be among the first to see Aquaman (I'll even get to see it before general release) and while I'm not expecting it to be a great movie, or even a good one, if it avoids being as bad as Suicide Squad then I'll be happy enough.

But that's the whole point of 'Elseworld' takes on tehse superheroes by changing it up.
Imagine The Dark Knight with Batman '89 score, it just doesn;t fit, like it doesn't fit in Justice League.
Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel score is better than the original Superman score and theme in my opinion and was specifically for that (elseworld) version of Superman, the old score just doesn't fit and sounds way to dated and corny.
I'm looking forward to your review of Aquaman without spoilers wink when you've seen it, when will you get to see it?

It's out over here on the 14th so I'll probably see it on the 11th or 12th. Don't worry though, I won't post any spoilers. People who spoil movies for others are the worst scum of the earth, as far as I'm concerned.

It wasn't awful. But it was completely disjointed. You could tell that it was essentially two seperate movies haphazardly combined to make one. Either the original Zack Snyder version or a completely remade Joss Whedon version would have been better. Instead we got a Frankenstein's Monster of a movie with no clear direction, tone or continuity. And some truly awful CGI, which seems to be the DCEU's trademark now.

Yeah I'd doubt it would be as good as Wonder Woman. But all I'm looking for is a decent action movie so if it delivers on that, I'll be happy enough.

I only know him as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones. But judging from his look in the picture above I think he would be perfect for Lobo in DC, I see a missed opportunity by WB eek

Which is weird. I didn't realise that the org was only for Americans. After all, mods had no problems with threads discussing Ant Man And The Wasp months before it was released in Europe after it got delayed here due to the World Cup.
