Starting September 4, FX premieres the Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans MC. It picks up 2 1/2 years after the finale of SOA. (From Wikipedia): "will focus on the struggles of Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border. EZ is the gifted son of a proud Latino family, whose American dream was snuffed out by cartel violence. Now, his need for vengeance drives him toward a life he never intended and can never escape."
I started watching SOA in bulk when the last season was about to start. I got them all watched & followed the last season as it aired on TV. I will definitely give this a good chance to see if it pulls me in or not. Sutter is a great storyteller, so I have good hopes.
Ohhh, I will have to get cable again just so I can watch this. LOVED the intensity of SOA. This looks like it will be just as intense, just as good. Thanks for the heads up!
Is it just me or do others give those motorcycle clubs just a brief moment of side-eye just because of SofA? I mean, just a fraction of a second of thought. Got a couple in the area, never gave them much thought until...
Nah, not long after SOA ended, Sutter mentioned a possible spin-off or another related story. He works slow, so I'm not surprised by the span of time between either series.
The show's wikipedia page might tell you that. There were so many folks in the cast, I didn't bother to cross-reference them. Charlie has said he won't be on the show - of course, this takes places after his death, so yeah. Thanks for the update, Chuck. hehehe

WHOAAAH! Spoiler alert.
If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

No spoilers in this reply: Thoughts on the show? I watched the first three so far, and I really like it. It hit the ground running, but it doesn't feel like they're overdoing it too early too soon.
I loved the SOA character cameo (not telling who). It felt like the baton was passed a bit. The irony of the dead blackbird/raven at the beginning was not lost on me. It's an omen that was in SOA that will probably befall the Mayans over time, too.
Just a warning for new viewers: Of course SOA had its moments of gruesomeness and language. Mayans seem to be firmly planted in 2018's lax attitude toward using the F-word more than once in a cable show episode (whereas Breaking Bad got one "fuck" per season). Also, the violence or gore in it seems fitting for the scenario, but it's still like "WHOA, THE FUCK?!" when you see it.

*BIG POUT* I don't have cable! You are going to make me get it just to watch this one show. Dagnabbit! One of the things that I always enjoyed about SOA was just the intensity of it. I'd sit on the edge of the couch while watching, and think I even ended up on the floor in shock a couple of times. (When I'm watching something, I really get into it. It's embarrassing!)

WHOAAAH! Spoiler alert.
No spoiler in what I said.
The bolded is a very big spoiler! Fortunately, I already watched the entire Sons of Anarchy series.
LOL - It is a spoiler if you hadn't watched SOA, but I think Trivial was thinking everyone had seen the season finale for SOA.
LOL listen, if folks ain't seen the original show by now, the "spoiler" gripe is way off the table. ahaha
If you plan on watching Sons of Anarchy, but haven't yet and want to avoid spoilers then you shouldn't be reading this thread anyway. Nevertheless, how long before a spoiler--and it is a spoiler, no need for quotes--is way off the table? A few months? A year? Five years?

The show has been off the air for almost 4 years. So yeah, spoiler alerts are over. A few months after the finale is fair, but 4 years later? Too bad, so sad.
