The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is delightful.

I resisted that show for the longest because people kept saying to me (before I had Prime), "OMG - The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel really is marvelous! You HAVE to watch it!" I didn't watch it for the same reason I never saw E.T., never read Harry Potter, and thought Thriller was overrated - because people kept telling me I HAD to watch them and/or that I was crazy for not watching/listening to/loving them. I will not be pushed.

I also highly recommend Fleabag. The payoff in the sesason finale was huge for this twisted comedy.

The Amazon series I look forward to watching most though is The Man in the High Castle.

THE EXPANSE
I really got into that show.

I am also kicking myself for not having watched THE TICK yet!!!

I tried Fleabag and never finished it.

One Mississippi was great, but canceled. The first is based directly on Tig Notaro's life, season two is fictional.

Mozart In The Jungle is good, but I've still not finished season 4 (its last).

Red Oaks is over but was so great and was set in the 80s. It reminds me of a bit more refined but still funny Caddyshack vibe. Not as slapstick though.

The Man In the High Castle is a classic. It is based on a Philip K. Dick novel of the same name, showing us an alternate timeline where Germany won the war and the US is now divided into three large sections, the larger being Nazis, and the smaller west coast being Japanese. There is also a large neutral zone in the Rocky's. The U.S. is now basically from Missouri eastward. It's really good.

I hear Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams is good, but I haven't been able to watch it yet.

Catastrophe has a fun premise and is a good look at how two adults, who had a quickie affair that spawned a child, have to now learn to co-parent and be a couple for the child. It was Carrie Fisher's last TV role, she died after season 3 wrapped. Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan star in it and write every episode. It's 3 seasons in with a 4th coming at some point.

Also try I Love Dick (a show I endorse on many, many levels), A Very English Scandal (a 3-part mini-series about a true story), Transparent (one more season to go), Mad Dogs (one season, a very long mini-series and really good), and Sneaky Pete.

that's the thing with 'fleabag'....it's the first show i ever watched that was very consciously produced to be binge watched. you watch the whole thing, and when you get to the end, it becomes an entirely different story. you kinda gotta see the end...and that girl is funny as shit.

'forever' is pretty good, plumbing the depths of modern societal and relationship expectations...i've never liked fred armisen, but he did well in this. maya rudolph is awesome...so subtle and clever. i'll always have a crush on her.

this one seemed to be consciously written for binging, too. i always appreciate when creators work their medium well and consider their audience's consumption habits.

Okay, first of all - E.T., Thriller, and Harry Potter came out when I was an adult and had been making my own decisions for a long time.

But it was actually my parents - who said, "If everyone else was jumping off a bridge, would you do it, too?" way more than was necessary - who put me on the path to not always following the crowd. We are major individualists.

I'm just kidding around too. I am always suspicious of stuff that is universally praised. But you know E.T. came out in 1982 and Harry Potter came out some 18 years later or so? How old are you!!???

Sneaky Pete is great. If you like that, you'll probably like Hap and Leonard, which is even better.

I am watching this, starting episode 3 now. Just when you think "Oh, this is what it's going to be" at the end of ep 1, then ep 2 is like "fuck you bitch, no it's not!". So, now I binge today. lol

By the way, while probably unintentional, I noticed that her flight to Florida was flight 1814. Any Janet Jackson fan immediately fins meaning in that, even when there isn't one. haha

Just finished Forever. I think episode 5 was sort of drawn out or almost unnecessary on the surface. But, it does prove to be a catalyst for the story's 90º turn. I hope there is a season 2. The ocean....where?!

And PS PeeDub: I'm the same with Fred. I know he's talented, but I could never connect with his comedy. But this isn't a comedy per se (although there is dark humor throughout). I think it was more of a new role for Maya Rudolph, who we've seen pull off all sorts of comedic roles with ease, whereas Fred sort of always does this clueless-dry-self-deprecating-self-important character. Maya playing this sort of quietly tortured character is a nice switch for her. There were moments of relief either intentional or unintentional with her, but overall her dive into the psyche of that character was great.

yeah...he always comes off, to me, as the guy who, while wide-eyed thinks 'talk louder and slower english to non-english speakers' is funny...he's always TRYING to BE funny. this role suited him. he does mild-mannered rather well.

maya rudolph, on the other hand...she just IS funny. she can crack me up with an eye movement or a facial tick. she was great in this show.
