What is something you would go back and tell your younger self?

I'm not talking time machines or some crazy shit, let's say it was a video on VHS. For the younger people, that was before dvds...

All of the stupid mistakes I've made in my life helped make me who I am but the one thing I would tell myself is to not care what people think.

My younger years were filled with concern for what people thought about me or music or you name it. What a complete waste of mental energy that was.

How about the Org?!

Do no less than the equivalent to 30 minutes of strenous walking everyday. Do exactly everything they tell you to do about taking care of your teeth, everything. Do that with consistancy and the rest you'll figure out just fine.

Time keeps on slipping into the future...

This moment is all there is...

I would go back and tell myself as I was starting college, "Almost no decision you make at this stage of your life is permanent. You can change your major, change your career, change your friends, get out of a not-so-great relationship - and it will all be okay. Scary, yes - but you will come through it stronger and smarter."

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

In a general sense? It would be something like "The only things you're going to regret are the things you don't do".

In a specific sense? It would be "Buy as much Microsoft stock as you can as soon as it goes public, and keep buying it for at least the next ten years thereafter".

The first bullies I ever had were three girls - Leah Scott, Rhonda Thompson, & Julie Hollaway - who were the best at being mean girls. I was called a fag, at 11 years old, before I ever knew what that meant. It followed into high school. They made my life hell, as well as their boyfriends jumping into the mob mentality.

I'm not sure what I'd tell that little boy. I really don't.

In general, I would tell myself to "ignore everyone that ever discourages you from doing what you want to do in life, no matter what".

Dad was more absent than present, and mom always told me to "do just enough for now, you don't need all that other stuff, just get a little job to make a few bucks for now". Mom wanted me to survive, dad didn't care much about anything other than molesting my younger stepbrother. They were discouraging in actions, in words, and deeds. So my biggest advice would be to "do more than they ever thought you were able to do, but do it for you."

I definetly empathize. I was different from the other girls, and really shy and nice, too nice actually, so they just made my life hell. Eventually my mom went and yelled at the principle, but that didn't really make anything better.

Hated Bullys in school. I would always step in. Last thing a bully wants is someone who would actually fight back.

Find a way to get paid for doing something you'd be doing through choice anyway.

Other than some winning lottery numbers! biggrin ...

1. When seeking female attention in late teens/early 20s, don't worry about it being tougher for guys ... the imbalance rights itself in older age.

2. By all means travel, but tearn to love your home town and home country more

3. Go to as many concerts and gigs as you can; your fave artists won't be around forever.

4. Be less of a jack-of-all-trades, and focus more on a smaller number of things you love doing.

^This.

As our kids graduated from college, my wife and I told them, "Take some time to find out what makes you happy. Is it building stuff, helping people, creating art, or whatever? Think about concepts that make you happy. Then when you figure that out, find out what things you can do that employ the concept that makes you happy. Don't worry about money. If you do what makes you happy, before too many years you will be an expert at it. It doesn't matter what you are doing - if you're an expert at it, you'll be paid handsomely. And even if you aren't guess what? You're still happy".

1. Don't ask for a 32x for christmas, it's gonna 90% suck

2. get out more often,

3. Don't take the benadryl your doctor prescribed you, THAT'S WHY YOU'RE FALLING ASLEEP IN SCHOOL!

4. Take advantage of the "girl" time you've got with A., F, E. especially F... wow.. what a stroke of luck!

5. Forget the kitten thing, just knock a few around with S

6. Don't let the girl''s rudeness make you angry. Don't say anything in haste. See if you two will work out.

But the odds are.. if #3 ever happened.. I'd be a different dude in a different set of life circumstances without ever having met any of 4,5,6

I'd also tell myself to quit the first band earlier. It's not going anywhere

Wait longer before having sex. Stay away from boys until I was at least 18!

Get a better education so I could've made over 6 figures.

Travel more when I was younger.

Be much more adventurous

Depends on how young. If I could talk to my 12 year old self, I ´d probably tell myself to learn at least one instrument, maybe guitar, or even more instruments, maybe guitar, bass and keyboards and drum computers. I know many kids and teenagers and they teach themselves with Youtube tutorials and by practicing very often.

If I could talk to my 20 year old self, I´d probably tell myself to buy Microsoft, Apple and Crocs and Nike stock, or Pfizer stock before 1998. And of course real estate.

And I´d tell myself to avoid certain people and relationships, and go to more Prince concerts. I´ve seen him in concert more than 20 times but I wish I could´ve seen him more often.

.

I´d also tell myself to take better care of myself. I´m healthy and grateful but still.....I wish I had had the health info I have now when I was younger. I´ve always been into healthy eating and working out from an early age on but the things I know now would´ve helped me a lot when I was younger.

.

Plus, of course, I’d also tell my younger self the results of a few years worth of horse races and some winning lottery numbers.

a million things, a million, but most of them worked out the same way for the most part, only with a lot of wasted time. I wish I hadn't gone to college, wish I'd never approached any women, never made close friends. but sometimes it's not just hindsight, it's that the pressures around us make us do those things. It's tough to cut yourself off from needs and if you have to rely on corrupt, which this whole system is, you're gonna get fucked. I did the best I could. My 70 year old stepdad worked at a place for over 30 years and they were trying to fire him, they didn't, he retired before they could, that will never happen to me, never. Still, the bastards got their little piece, a lot of them.

I don't really have any regrets so I wouldn't advise my younger self to do anything different. I would probably just want to prepare her for some of the things that are going to happen in her future. There was one particular thing that happened to me which I've never mentioned on the org and it very nearly ended me. I'd try to prepare my younger self for that in the hope that it wouldn't impact her the way it impacted me.
