Spider-Man PS4 is the best game

Yes, you read that title right. Insomniac’s Spider-Man is the best game....ok, the best Spider-Man game to date at least
Not only is the overall gameplay and free roam enjoyable but Insomniac gives the best Spider-Man story since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. I have always been neutral on Miles Morales as Spider-Man, but this game gives him so much depth and it made me a fanboy of Miles.
And I never get tired web slinging, even after story-mode is finished. It just leaves me wanting more
There’s gotta be more to come. I can’t wait till the next Spidey game.
9.5/10

Have you played this game? Do you plan on it? What do you think?

I plan on getting it but trying to find the time to play it is the problem. Do you have it on the regular PS4 or the ps4 Pro?

Regular PS4 slim. Mine is fairly new so I felt there’s no point in buying another new one for $400. Also I don’t have a 4K TV so I’m not sure what difference it would make.

I have the pro and a 4k TV but I'm still not sure if there's really that much difference to be honest.

Side-by-side comparison would for sure show the difference. Have to have good vision, I guess

I need glasses to read so my vision is far from perfect. I do see a difference between the ps4 Pro and xbox one x though. My fiancé has the One X and there's this driving game he plays on it that looks amazing. So lifelike. The thing about that is though, that it looks SO realistic, I think it looks kind of boring. Give me Mario Kart on the Switch any day.

I haven't played myself in probably 20 years or so, but I do watch playthroughs sometimes. lol Really enjoyed this one... and it's like a good superhero movie, better than the godawful DC shit in cinemas. lol

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

IMO it’s even better than Spider-Man: Homecoming. Action alone is better but also story.

PS 4 ? Xbox One? PS4 Pro ?

The thing is that those new consoles I mentioned above are already starting to get old now , and I don´t know when the next generation is going to be released, and since I don´t spend as much time on videogames as I used to, I don´t want to buy something that´s going to be oldfashioned and dated real soon.

-

What are your plans regarding consoles? PS 4 ? PS Pro? Xbox One or are you going to stick with your PS3 for a while? Or wait until something really brandnew comes out?

-.

I wish they´d release a new GTA real soon but I guess now that the new Red Dead Redemption is going to be released they´ve put GTA VI on hold.

GTA V was aight but I hated the fact that there were no extra stories like they did with GTA IV and the Ballad of Gay Tony. I don´t play online.

I still have my original phat PS3 (and my PS2) and I'm sticking with them. I know a dude in Manhattan who repairs consoles out of his apartment, so I'm covered if anthing goes wrong. I still play the PS2 GTAs, so I refuse to buy a system that's not backwards compatible.

GTA V was cool, but GTA San Andreas is the best.

Agreed.

But....we are both missing out on some fantastic new games.

And.....I loved GTA San Andreas but I wish they´d at least update and re-release those old games (San Andreas & Vice City) if they can´t be bothered with releasing a new GTA right now.

I mean they DID rework San Andreas for the consoles and Vice City for smartphones but as far as graphics are concerned, the improvements weren´t that noticeable.

Reworking and re-releasing old games would be a good thing at this point.

Especially San Andreas and Vice City, but also other games.

It worked for Halo and other good games that needed a graphics update.

Same here....I´ve been playing the same old games in the past four or five years.

Heck, there ´s even games that I bought or got as a birthday gift years ago, and it´s only now that I found the time to play them.

My list is a bit similar to yours.

Role playing - GTA SA, Vice City, IV, Gay Tony, and V (and sometimes the Lost and the Damned)

First person - HALO and Half Life....still waiting for them to release a new Half Life. But....I tried playing Half Life again the other day and I felt sick and dizzy. Googled it and it seems I´m not alone .

Fighting - the fighting parts in Arkham are enough for me.

Superhero - Arkham pt I ( Asylum? Can´t remember the name), and of course Arkham City. I love the portrayal of Batman in that game.

I need to save and print this list.

That game is so old now but I still love to play it.

How accurate do you, as a New Yorker, find it?

I mean geographically....does it really come close to NYC ? Do you find your way around very easily? Does it resemble NYC geographically ?

Was it that realistic?

I even feel uncomfortable playing Half Life 2 sometimes. I think Resident Evil VR would make me feel a bit uncomfortable. I mostly play at night. lol

I'm off those games after playing Resident Evil 7 in VR. I never want to go through anything like that again.

It terrified the life out of me. The VR aspect of it works TOO well. When you're sneaking around the home of a family of maniacs and one of them bursts through a wall right in front of you, axe in hand, you start to wonder why you're putting yourself through these kinds of things.

Kool,

It's impossible to recreate NYC block-by-block in a game, because the city is so huge. But Rockstar did an amazing job capturing the essence of New York. It really does feel like home. Some of the Bohan projects are just like the ones I grew up in. I only have a few minor complaints:

1) Subways & buses in GTA IV look nothing like their real life counterparts.

2) NYC is known for its sports stadiums, but GTA IV Liberty City has none. Can't be a memory issue - the PS2 GTAs had stadiums (three in SA).

3) My borough (Bronx/Bohan) got the shaft. There's more to the Bronnx than the ghettos in the south area. Rockstar could have added Yankee Stadium, Co-Op City....probably not the Bronnx Zoo, but maybe the Botanical Gardens.

Out of the three, my favorite is The Ballad of Gay Tony. Since the game is centered around the Liberty City nightlife, the colors are brighter. It has the wacky element of the PS2 GTAs (which was missing from the more serious GTA IV & TLAD). And Yusef is probably the best supporting character in a GTA game.

Did you ever play Driver: Parallel Lines? Bit of a GTA rip off but it was actually set in NY and the graphics and scale at the time was quite impressive (I played it on the original Xbox). It also had a banging soundrack of real songs and a very good storyline with a unique twist half way through the game.

I'd pick it up in a heartbeat if it ever got a re-release.

No, I'm strictly a GTA guy.
