Ferris Beuller's Day Off is so well made....

So is Sixteen Candles... these movies, that I took for granted as amusing at the time, are like time capsules of 80's youth culture... seriously, from an anthropological view...

FBDO... is the kind of movie that's not even a movie. It's so overexposed and overappreciated that it's not even reviewable anymore. Everyone likes it, and everyone knows it well. It's party of an entire generation's psyche.

Well i'm well out of the mainstream psyche by nature, especially in the 80's (I listened to shit like The Shining soundtrack on the way to school), so i'm looking at it the same way i look at Requiem for a Dream, or All About Eve, or Graffiti Bridge (ha!)

I have Ferris Bueller's Day off video. It is timeless. Matthew Brodderick is cute in his younger days. Saw the movie when it came out way back when. It is still funny to watch. Charlie Sheen is in the movie too.

Ferris Bueller is brilliant! The best of John Hughe's teen flicks. Too bad he moved on to do crap like Home Alone with Chris Columbus!
