I didn't keep them.

Bet you had a lot. Also depends what mode you recorded it in. Yeah once you got the dvd's you threw them away and had so much more space I bet.

I taped so many shows in the 90s, all the Star Treks, X-Files, Sliders, Quantum Leap, Batman TAS, Superman TAS, X-Men & Spider-Man, Young Indiana Jones, old series on Sci-Fi that I hadn't seen since I was a kind in the 70s like Galactica, Buck Rogers, Six Million Dollar Man & Bionic Woman, Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman etc... Point is, I was taping so much, often setting the timer for many different things in one day, that I didn't have the luxury of sorting shows on different tapes or using SP speed. It was all SLP/EP and it was all mixed up.

But, I was such a nerd, I kept a list, typed out, and updated regularly, of everything I had so I could cross reference which tape (by #) it was on. So, if I wanted to watch DS9, Beyond The Farthest Star, I'd find it on the list, get the tape #, pull the tape, then FF & watch. And yes, all with commercials.

I had hundreds of those tapes when I started buying DVDs and recording to DVDR. I slowly gave them away as I upgraded, might still have a box or two, not sure. Now I don't even have many of the DVDRs. Just about everything got a release in the 00s, and most of it at affordable prices.

Love all those shows you mentioned. Any love for Space 1999? My local tv station played it in repeats in the late 80's. I taped all of them because that was like my first favorite tv show. I too threw them away once I got the dvd box set

Is Tarantino still doing a Star Trek movie or was it just his usual bullshit like The Vega Brothers, Kill Bill 3, Bond movie, etc.

The list of "genre" franchises I don't like is shorter than the ones I love. But, sorry, Space 1999 is on that short list. I watched it alot when I was a kid because I loved sci-fi and wanted to love it too, but, it never took. Kinda like Dr. Who. I tried, but, no... boxed

Ok just finished season 1 of Voyager. Very good and better than TNG, DS9, and Enterprise. Once again my only complaint is that the last episode "Episode 15 - Learning Curve " In which Tuvok was in charge of training Maquis was kind of a let down for the last episode. They should of put learning curve as episode 10 and put "Episode 10 - State of Flux" as the last episode. State of Flux is when we find out Seska was a Cardassian agent and ends up teaming up with the Kazon. Defiantly a way better ending of season 1 and a better transition into season 2.

I never seen any of the shows from the 60's-80's/90's episodes. Been watching the "2000's" series and really like the show. However I know they made the Doctor into a woman (because, you know rolleyes ) and probably will stop watching once I get to that part.

I really wanted to like it (that ship is COOL), but just found it boring. Sorry. Most of the stuff in that picture is great, though. Even some of it that objectively "sucks". lol

I saw George Taki and he had a cool story about Space 1999. He said back in the day Star trek shot right next door to the mission impossible set. Cast members of both shows would visit each other sets. Barbara Bain thought the set of Star trek was cool and said she wouldn't mind doing a TV show like Star Trek.

Maybe not, but I quite liked his performance as Spock in the first Star Trek reboot movie. Like you, the one thing I didn't like was the destruction of Vulcan. But, more importantly, Leonard Nimoy liked Quinto's performance. What made the film for me was including Leonard Nimoy... After that, it should have been shut down. I didn't expect to like it and went to see it with my late friend who passed...and we were both surpised with how much we liked it (and I'm talking about two hardcore Trek fans from the old days...).

Here's an interesting vid I came across. I didn't realize the split between CBS/Paramount and the new rules surrounding the Star Trek licenses that came from it had so much to do with all the changes we've seen with JJ's movies and with the new TV shows. Very informative, while also a bit depressing.

"Paramount's Star Trek MUST differ visually and tonally from CBS' Star Trek"

Tonight I'm watching the Star Trek Fan Collective: Captain's Log set. As I already own all the seasons of all the series, the Fan Collective sets are not something I would normally have purchased if I had not come across them for $5-6 a piece at Big Lots a few years ago. I'm glad I did, they're really cool collections. The Time Travel set alone is great for making the case that the premise of JJ's movies creating an alternate timelime separate from the original is BS... In Star Trek, altering the past ERASES the timeline.
