Not true. That was the old Rooneys pre Heinz Field. The Steelers have paid AB, Big Ben, Cam Heyward, and Stephon Tuitt and a few others but unfortunately the Steelers can't give LeVeon Bell the ridiculous guaranteed money he's seeking and wanting to be paid like a number 1 rb and number 2 WR.

I doubt it seriously he would have more receptions than JuJu this season.

The Seahawks haven't budged in giving Earl Thomas a new deal yet but he was professional

enough to report and go to war with his teammates before the first game.

LeVeon deserve his money but just not the ridiculous amount he's seeking. The Steelers have

to be able to extend other players.

Washington has spent big money on free agent players for years. How has that worked out for

them? Does New England ever overpay for their players? Hell NE will get rid of your ass before

they overpay anyone not named Tom Brady. The Steelers model has worked well since the Steelers built Heinz Field and named Kevin Colbert GM.

valid points...youre right, since they moved out of 3 Rivers Stadium, they have begun to shed that old reputation the whole AFC Cental/North had for being cheap family businesses...the Rooneys, Art Modell in Cleveland, and the Brown family in Cincinnati...

Agreed. The fact that the OLs are running their mouths about other people's money is an indictment of the leadership in that locker room.

Believe it or not Cousins is my starting qb in my fantasy league. I had to work
during the draft so I was auto picked Cousins and Mitch Trubisky and it was no way in hell I was keeping him. I then had to choose between Flacco, suspended Winston, and Archie from the Bengals and I chose Archie as my backup.

The problem is not in the locker room, it's the player (Bell) who hasn't seen the locker room since last season.

Right now Bell is not acting like a man but a spoiled little brat. He might sit out the season. I guess Bell does spell TeaIm with an I in it.

Let's not put this all on Bell. PIT made a business move to skate on the franchise tag and avoid paying Bell big guaranteed money, after Bell overperformed his rookie contract. I don't think Bell has handled this well, but let's be honest -- if Bell suffers a career ending injury, neither the franchise nor its fans will move on from him in 5 minutes.

And the teammates who spoke out against him are in the exact same situation.

Don't forget Bell's drug suspension. Phunkdaddy said best regarding Bell's contract offer. Steelers gave him a good offer. Negotiations are over at this point and it's time for him to go to work, be a team player, take your 14 million (where else would you get that money, not at Walmart).

Okay. Let's take break this down.

1. I agree with you that Bell's holding out for flex money rather than position money is dumb. He'll meet the same fate Jimmy Graham met in arbitration.

2. Bell's suspension cost PIT 4 games and he STILL outperformed his deal, going for nearly 1,900 yards of offense in 13 games.

3. Bell is worth much more to his employer and co-workers than the 14 million he's being offered. He's a professional that is elite in a league full of elite players, down to the practice squad. And his usage rate is through the damn roof. Even if I DON'T agree with his negotiating premise, I do understand WHY he's doing what he's doing,

4. The teammates that are speaking out are not as elite at their position as Bell is at his.

Well if you are talking about Decastro and Pouncey they are elite in the positions that they play. Once again Bell brought up "his value". Everybody thinks they should be paid more because of their value. Well who opens those lanes up so Bell can run through, the O-Line. The team has every right to be mad at Bell. Yeah they knew he was in negotiations, and when negotiations was over and it was time to report in, Bell didn't show up. Yeah they got mad, they want him on the team. They want him to be a team player. They are planning the entire season and they need him there. They are the ones reporting to training camp, working out in the hot sun while 20 something year old Bell thinks he is entitled to some outrageous amount. Really 14 million is way more than enough to play football (actors too are way overpaid) who the hell would pass on 14 million. So yeah seriously you'll never convince me why some 20 something year old is offended by a 14 million dollar offer.

It's not about the value of the task, it's about the value to the business.

This guy is arguably the best at what he does at a skill position in a business worth billions. You know he's worth it.

And if you really don't think so, that's admirable. You should tell the Rooneys to ditch Ben, AB and Haden while they're at it. They make close to or more than $14 million. There are a few teams out there who'd gladly take them off your squad's hands to support your principled position.

Let's be clear -- every NFL player on a roster is arguably elite. But there are levels to this. Of the OL's who spoke out -- Foster, Pouncey, DeCastro -- DeCastro is the only one who was 1st team All-Pro in 2017. Pouncey hasn't been first team All-Pro since 2014. Foster is not nearly as heralded. DeCastro ranked in the 40s of the NFL 100, Bell ranked 5. Hence the word, as.

They've all been around long enough to know it's a business, and skipping training camp was part of Bell's holdout. This is a guy who is more likely than these guys to end his career at the turn of a knee.

So maybe what they're really mad about is that Bell is being paid more than them. Foster said just as much. They're a good line, and they can make many running backs look really good. They showed that. But if they're solely responsible for Bell being as productive as he is, PIT would have let Bell go after the 1st tag and not wasted tens of millions on him. In any event, these OLs are showing themselves as resentful of Bell's earning ability. THAT's the problem.

Bell's rolled the dice on the tag 2 years in a row. I bet the Steelers made him a decent offer for long-term cash and he turned it down. But I'm not going to fault a guy who subjects himself to the equivalent of 400-500 car crashes every season for holding out for as much money as he can get.
