Martavis Bryant cut by Raiders, facing suspensionMartavis Bryant's short time in Oakland has time to a close, and he is unlikely to see a football field anytime soon. The wide receiver was released by the Raiders on Saturday and is facing yet another suspension from the league. pending appeal, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Oakland traded the 79th overall pick in the 2018 draft to the Pittsburgh Steelers for Bryant's services and reaped one unproductive offseason and preseason.
And some analyst criticized the Steeler's for letting Bryant go

The Steelers played the hell out of the Raiders there. And some Steelers fans were criticizing the trade as though Martavis was worth more than a 3rd rd pick or still the same player he was before the suspension. Don't laugh at my funk

Yeah, but hey if the Steelers could have gotten a 2nd round pick out of it I would have been OK with that. Why do I have this strange feeling Bryant will end up in Cincinnati
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Nah. They already have Tyler Boyd and a decent rookie receiver to go with AJ Green. Plus there aren't many teams lining up to sign a receiver who is most likely to be suspended this year. Don't laugh at my funk

Yeah but the Bengals seem like the team where all the trouble makers would go (that honor use to be the Raiders). At this point I don't even think the CFL would take him.

Makes no damn sense. Gruden has been on ice for damn near 20 years and the Raiders give him the Federal Reserve Bank and a castle but don't want to negotiate for the best defensive player they've had since Charles Woodson. The last time Gruden coached he dragged Tampa Bay to the bottom of the barrel. With the Martavis Bryant episode this has been an uneventful offseason for the Raider faithful. Yes I'm rooting for the Colts and the Giants. The Titans/Dolphins game for me could go either way, and it was harder decision being week 1. Went with the Chargers because they are at home. Also rooting for the Bills. [Edited 9/5/18 12:54pm]

ive never heard an offensive lineman on any other teams talk about one of their team leaders/stars like that...Foster & Pouncey are outta pocket for discussing a teammates money with the press... Antonio Brown and Coach Tomlin are handling the situation with the media much better

Not true. That was the old Rooneys pre Heinz Field. The Steelers have paid AB, Big Ben, Cam Heyward, and Stephon Tuitt and a few others but unfortunately the Steelers can't give LeVeon Bell the ridiculous guaranteed money he's seeking and wanting to be paid like a number 1 rb and number 2 WR. I doubt it seriously he would have more receptions than JuJu this season. The Seahawks haven't budged in giving Earl Thomas a new deal yet but he was professional enough to report and go to war with his teammates before the first game. LeVeon deserve his money but just not the ridiculous amount he's seeking. The Steelers have to be able to extend other players. Washington has spent big money on free agent players for years. How has that worked out for them? Does New England ever overpay for their players? Hell NE will get rid of your ass before they overpay anyone not named Tom Brady. The Steelers model has worked well since the Steelers built Heinz Field and named Kevin Colbert GM. Don't laugh at my funk

Those linemen are just speaking out of frustration. You have a big game Sunday a team with playoff and Super Bowl aspirations and all anyone can talk about is Bell. I understand both sides but that shit can't spill over into the season. The team will move on if it has to. Those linemen thought process is you're either with us or against us. LeVeon verbally agreed to sign his tender before the start of the season so teammates have a right to be pissed but shouldn't talk about his money to the media. Don't laugh at my funk
