The celebrities I've met that were cool were:

Muhammad Ali- The coolest guy I ever met.

Me'Shell Ndegeocello-worship I met her in Georgetown in DC. She was playing in a club and I wanted to see her but the tickets were sold out. I was talking to someone outside the club and I see her walking towards us. She said hello and I told her she was one of my inspirations on Bass (aside from Stanley Clarke and Larry Graham). She said thanks and we talked for a bit and she asked me if I was coming to the concert. I told her that the tickets were sold out so Me'Shell said to hold on for a sec and we went to the ticket booth where she put me on her personal guest list. Needless to say I was grateful and had a great great night.

Jennifer Tilly-drooling cool.

Joe Frazier-not too cool.

Queen Noor of Jordan-cool but in a high class, stuck up, regal sort of way. Sexy too.

Nona Gaye-She was sweet and cool. I met her at GWU where they were doing a tribute to Marvin Gaye. I finally got a chance to tell her how much her dad's music meant to me and how much it helped me get through the bad times when I was a kid. We both kind of got choked up talking about it but me especially since it was real personal. She was very down to earth and beautiful physically and otherwise.

I actually almost met Chris Rock also. He was sitting with his girlfriend and two others in front of me at a Prince concert at MSG. What was funny was the fact that they got kicked out of their seats cuz they belonged to someone else. They all had to move down the row to their assigned seats.

fiona apple--not too cool

chris robinson (black crowes)--pretty cool

larry graham--very cool

debbie harry--not cool

elvis costello--cool

patricia field-very cool and very drunk

YOU MET BONO? Oh lawd. That's one of the only people I can imagine meeting who might make me act like a damn fool. For that reason, I hope I never meet him, despite his 'very cool' rating.

The only celebrity I've met is Prince. He was mostly cool. It was a long discussion, so his coolness varied. smile

There aren't many celebrities I'd care to meet --I didn't even especially want to meet Prince, though in retrospect I'm happy I did-- but I would be curious to chat with Larry Graham.

i actually feel the same way about meeting celebs as you do. Every celebrity that i've met has happened by chance. The time I met pat field was just over lunch at dean and deluca by rockefeller center. my friends and i were eating next to her and betsy johnson and we all just ended up talking and finishing our lunch together...i've never intentionally set out to meet anyone. they all live and breathe, just like us, right. As for larry graham, he is a really nice guy with some interesting things to say. if you ever see him at a Prince show or at a future celebration, just talk to him..he's a very approachable, down to earth guy.

Bruce Campbell- met him twice. Easily the coolest celeb I've met!
Quinten Tarantino- Almost as cool as Bruce!
George Takei- Also met him twice. Fantastic guy!
Marina Sirtis- very sweet, and even hotter in person!
Nicky Katt- Really friendly!
Rufus Wainwright- he hit on me!
Michael Dorn- Very nice guy!
Adam West- Incredibly friendly dude!
Robert Rodriguez- Nice, but weird as fucking hell!
Richard Linklater- Down to earth, nice.
Kevin Smith- Friendly, and funny!
Larry Graham- Cool.
Todd Mcfarlane- Stuck up asshole
Peter David- Very nice.
Sheila E- Yowza!
Harry Knowles- Nice, but has an exagerrated view of his importance
Mayte- Couldn't have been sweeter
Morris Hayes- met him twice. The first time he was nice, the second he ignored me (I think it was because the first time I had a hot female with me)
Kirky J- Outgoing, friendly. Seemed to really enjoy interacting with the fans.
Kat Dyson- Sweet lady
Rhonda Smith- Also very sweet
Marva King- Gracious
Prince- sorta. He acknowledged my presence, but didn't say anything. He wasn't rude, just quiet.

Youe Ming from the celtics is cool
Kobie Bryant sucks he gotta messed up attitude
Beyounce suck she has a bitchy attitude
TLC T Boz and Chilli are cool they remind me of my sisters
Jermain Dupri is cool pretty down to earth
Alicia Keys is also a nice person
The nicest person I ever had a chance to meet in show biz is Maxwell... ladies he really is shy, it's not just a bunch of hype to make him look mysterious smile

I met Youe Ming at the palace of auburn hills, all of the players at the celetics where signing autographs and stuff and I got a chance to Youe Ming or however you spell it

Kobie Bryant was the same thing, I already knew most of the Detroit Pistons players so When they played the LA Lakers I just got a chance to meet Kobe Bryant and he has way to much ego for his own good...

I met TLC and Jermain Dupri at a club in Alanta called 112, There where alot of celebririties there but I only got a chance to talk to T boz, Chilli and Jermain Durpri they where cool, Jermain Durpri kept trying to talk to my sister smile

Alicia Keys I met from a autograph signing and Maxwell was the same  I told Maxwell how much I loved him and he gave me a hug smile

I met Cuba Gooding Jr. Around the time of Jerry Mcguire, and he was so damn cute and sweet and happy, and friendly and beautuful and and. Then I met Oprah, and she was kind of snooty, on an elevator and she just avoided eye contact. I was like, whatever Oprah, whatever.

I met Drew Barrymore at Runyon Canyon here in LA...I had lost my dog "LEO" a beautiful (ridgeback/hound mut) but incredibly stupid dog and after a frantic one hour search I found him at the end of the hike chilling with a red head and her pooch...it was none other than Drew. She was cool as hell and she played with Leo and asked me how old he was and what not...Now I see celebrities here in LA all the time but this was my first interaction with one and unfortunatley I was too stunned to act normal...I nodded a lot...but LEO wasn't having it and he ran off again and I had to go chase him I didn't even say "nice to meet you" or anything...she probably thought I was some rude bastard...

Me'Shell Ndegeocello: was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to a concert she performed in NYC a few years ago. was introduced to her..and gave her one of the biggest hugs i could muster up...she truly is an inspiration..

umm..

not sure if this lady would appear in a typical celebrity profile..

but

mrs. farrakhan (please forgive if this is not the proper way to refer to her) : a former coworker of mine grew up with her and her husband...they were in town for i was about 8 months pregnant and my friend was on her way past my office..brought her in to introduce us...again..

despite my steely exterior..i'm a very huggie person..so i just had to give her one smile

uhh..i was in a wrecka stow in upper darby, pa (just outside west philly) and i heard this loud ass music..i could tell it was a car driving up the street...i looked up and will smith came through the do'..i must have had a real salty look on my face (naturally evil appearing countenance, i guess)...cuz he rolled his eyes at me, turned his back and started talking with the dj who worked there

well HUMPF to you too, sonny boy!!

lol

no other celeb sightings or introductions come to mind right now..

damn! didn't i have an avatar? oh..there it is redface

Krist Novaselic (Nirvana)--MAD COOL!

John Corbett--I partied with him at the wrap party for The Visitor back in 97. EXCELLENT GUY!

ICP--Nice guys, even if Violent J's brother's a prick.

Tons of WWF wrestlers (Honky-Tonk Man, Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, etc)

Peter Murphy--I shook his hand (does this count?)

My wife and I went to see John Leguizamo's Mambo Mouth down in Greenwich Village(?) before he took the show on Broadway (saw it then too).

We had front row seats and afterwards we waited for him to come out. I could say he was cool, (he wasn't speaking because he had strained his voice, but he seemed nice and shook our hands and stuff).

Didn't have a camera.

I work freelance for a video poduction company in NYC. We do a shit load of celebrity interviews and stuff, so I get to meet everyone through that. Some other celebs I also met through my old job as an usher at Manhattan Center Studios/Hammerstein Ballroom, where they used to have a lot of parties. I would meet some in the elevator or I would sneak back stage and just walk up to people an say hello. I met Drew Barrymore that way and godamn was she cool.

As far as stories go, let's see...

When I met Sigourney, she was waiting downstairs for her ride and I just asked if I could get a picture with her. She agreed and I got the pic. She's tall as fuck by the way. Then I started asking her about the next Alien project (Alien Resurrection). She told me something about her character being cloned from a fingernail clipping or something. She was really talking to me a lot but then I was being called back to work, and I'm literally walking backwards as she continues to give me Alien info. I couldn't believe I had to walk away from her like that.

It was a trip meeting Gwen Stefani, cuz I really dig her. She came walking into the interview room, real "girly" like with the nails all done, high heels, and super-tight jeans. She gave me the softest handshake ever. I got to talk to her and Tom Dumont(guitar player) for a little bit about a show they did the night before. They were cool to chat with. I really wanted to get a picture with her, but the producer of the segment wasn't having it.

Queen Latifa was cool. Ater the interview, she pulled some fireworks out of the trunk of her car and started blasting them off in the street. It was July 5th and she said she missed her chance the night before.

Cindy C. was a bit of a cunt. My best friend used to buy her calendars religiously, so I decided to ask her if she had a new one coming out. With an almost snobbish attitude she says, "I'm a little too old to be doing calendars." then she see's Ricki Lake and gets all friendly with her. She just kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

P Ditty was cooler than I expected. After the interview for MTV he shook all our hands and thanked us. Then he fed the whole crew, and holy shit was the grub good. The peach pie was the best. He hooked us up.

I met Jerry Springer when I was working the coat check at a club downtown. He came walking in with two hot blondes. He only stayed for a few minutes, but we said hello and shit.

We shot a music video with Carly Simon in her house/ranch at Martha's Vineyard. She was mad cool. She's from the Bronx also, so we were talking about the hood, and even some people we both know. I even got to play some of her guitars and basses while we waited for the shots to get ready. She later signed a picture for me an my family, since they were big fans.

The Busta Rhymes experience was fun cuz I was in his video for the remix of "Ante Up" with M.O.P. and Remy Martin. I was just an extra, but I managed to appear in the video about 35 times. Busta had me in a kind of a headlock for one shot and we're bouncin around together. At then end I walked up to him and said, "Cool headlock man." then gave him a pound.

I met Howard Stern backstage at the Dysfunctional Family Picnic 2000 concert in Jersey. I walked up to him as he was talking to Cane, from K-Rock. I just told him I was a big fan and shook his hand. He didn't say a word, just gave me the look like, yeah, so what. I was a little annoyed, but I knew that's how he was, so my opnion of him didn't change. It was such a difference meeting Jackie Martling earlier cuz he was so damn friendly to all of us. Then 2 years later I met Fred Norris in the street. He was cool too. Now I just have to meet the rest of the Stern crew.

I met Mohammed Ali and Michael J. Fox at the same time when they were doing a photo shoot for the Parkinson's foundaton. Ali was cracking jokes and Mike was hugging everyone. I was actually chatting with Ali's wife and Mike's mom for a while. I was talking to them about Parkinson's cuz my dad has it. They were really supportive. Then later I got pictures wih Ali and Mike.

I met Tretch (Naughty By Nature) when I worked as a bouncer for a hip hop club downtown. He would be loaded when he came in so he was always real friendly. Once I had to take a small knife from him when I was doing the search. He didn't give me any shit and he got it back at then end of the night.

John Waters was also fun to meet. I met him at another club I was working as event manager. He was at the bar with some friends and I just introduced myself. I forgot what we talked about but he was real cool and friendly.

The Tom Cruise story is one of my favorites. We're set up in a fancy hotel room wating to interview him as the E! channel was presenting him with some award. He comes in about an hour late. There are a few crew guys standing by the door and I'm further in the back. Tom walks in, aologizes for being late, passes the guys that are closer, then walks straight to me, shakes my hand and says hello, then does the same to the rest of the guys. At then end of the interview, the crew starts joking with me saying, "Hey, Tom walked right over to you first, I think he likes you." This was of course when all that stupid "Is Tom Cruise gay?" shit was going on. he was mad cool though.

That's pretty much it. I've been lucky enough to meet all these folks and discover that they're actually really down to earth and not just a bunch of assholes.

A few summers ago I was sitting on a bench at Nice Airport in France. I was listening to U2´s Achtung Baby on my portable CD-player and was lazily looking at the pictures in the CD´s booklet. Then all of a sudden this guy sitting next to me (I hadn´t looked at him) starts pointing at some of the pictures in the booklet. I got a bit annoyed and looked up. It turned out it was Bono and when he saw my surprised face he smiled. Beside him was the Edge but he didn´t even look our way. Then Bono made a few remarks about the pictures and said they´d been taken in Germany etc. It was a pretty cool and very relaxed encounter.

omfg See, this is why this doesn't work. We all have good days and bad days. I met Nick and Simon and they were sooo fricken cool! I mean, Nick was signing autographs, had a bag in one hand and a video camera under his arm and I asked him for a hug. And you know what? He was sooo sweet he said "A hug? Oh sure!" and I planted a little kiss on his cheek.

Simon let me hold his hand while walking for a few moments. We had checked them out filming a tv appearance in LA and after the show we found them outside waiting for their limo. They we're soo super nice that weekend lots of fans were following them around everywhere and they always took time to sign autographs and take pictures. This was back in 1990.
