Anyone still use a BlackBerry?

My teenager saw a Blackberry and thought it was "cool" to have a physical keyboard.

I miss it myself.

The new one is supposed to be really good...

BlackBerry KEY2 review: The undisputed keyboard king

Last year's BlackBerry KEYone was a something of a surprise: It brought Android to the classic BlackBerry form factor in a way that felt valuable. Sure, it was mostly a love letter to the brand's die-hards -- it also proved that physical keyboards weren't out of mileage just yet. This year's KEY2 is even better. If you were never a BlackBerry person, you won't find much here to change your mind. But if on some level, you still long for the days when great physical keyboards reigned supreme, your smartphone search ends here.

Anyone here still using them, or thinking about getting one again?

Nay, I'd say you're very smart to still be using a flip.

The BlackBerry sold now are Android based, I would never use Android for anytihng. The US goverment bought B.B. technology..... when B.B. created their own sleath software.

I stayed with my beloved blackberry far longer than i should have.

When I finally turned to Android I felt dumb for sticking with them as long as I did. (i know Blackberry now runs Android as well)

Then when I finally got my first iPhone I felt dumb that I stayed with Android as long as I did.

Technology keeps shifting and you have to keep up, but at this moment there is no way in hell i would switch back to Blackberry or Android. That may change later though. It's an ever moving target.

I would say privacy is a huge concern as well, not worried about governments but hackers getting a hold of my bank or card info. As well as the open nature of Android that lets ANYTHING onto the app store including things that mine for bitcoin or other far more nefarious BS. No way in hell would I ever go back to Android.

Too many sketchy phone manufacturers and developers running it without proper oversight. Not to mention getting updates on a timely basis or ever at all as you are abandoned as a customer by whichever brand of Android phone you happen to get unless it's a pricey premium one if you're lucky. In which case you were better off just getting an iPhone in the first place.

Besides Apple now handles the technological side of it almost entirely making owning anything in their ecosystem seamless while also being able to run the best Google apps.

Sorry, I don't get this - running *what*?

I love how they did Android (being sarcastic), that apps can read your SMS's, access your mic n camera etc. etc. if they want to. You have to give them permission when you DOWNLOAD it, not when you RUN it - that's frikkin incredible, Mr. Pichai! (and of course, a lot of apps won't run if you DON'T click "yes" or whatever....)

Running android. Any manufacturer can run it on the devices they sell without much oversight because there are so many.
About SMS, they still haven’t quite figured it out quite yet with so many SMS apps. They have outlined a universal protocol though, but one that doesn’t provide end-to-end encryption. Which is needed in the malware infested OS.
