The thing that helped keep the show together was the 'stalking horror' of the walkers and the family connection of the characters. Once Negan came into the picture and the family started getting killed off, more characters not so interconnected, and not much mystery of this new world, it was inevitable. But especially the seperating and killing of of the 'Atlanta' family

I wish Alexandria and the possibilities remained.

As much as I enjoyed JDMs portayal of the character, Negan was a little bit mishandled IMO ... they focused too much on the 'cartoon' side of him, the catchphrases and such like. They needed to focus more on the fact that Negan thought he was doing the right thing.

The point about Rick slaughtering a group of his guys first wasn't really mentioned, but to me that should have been the crux of Negan's argument. It would have been more interesting to have the viewer think "Hmmm, this Negan has a point", rather than make him a boo hiss pantomime villain.

Negan's best moment I thought was when he had the back and forth with Rick when he found out Carl had died ... there was genuine remorse from Negan, and anger that Rick's choices led to Carl dying. There should have been alot more of that.

With Rick being written out god knows what will happen now ... the ongoing Rick and Negan relationship is what drives the story in the comic from this point on. Without that I can't see it being anywhere near as good. TWD is Rick's story. I hope they decide to wrap the show up next season.

Yeah, If they had a few episodes that focused solely on Negan and his camp, even before the Georgia crew got to Alexandria, would have been good.

I think the scene were Rick and Morales from season 1 have it out was the closest to Ricks motives being questioned like you say Negan should have.

Speaking of an end game,what do you think of this one? In the last final moments of the final episode,we see Rick waking up,sweating and looking all scared and confused.His wife Lori walks in and says "Honey,what's wrong....did you have a bad dream"?

Fans have been speculating about the "it was all just a dream" thing for a while. Would be pretty funny to do that, but I doubt AMC will shoot their cash cow that easy.

Even better would be if Rick was woken up from his coma, played by another actor, with Lori asking if he's ok ... but over her shoulder out the window you can see the zombie chaos kicking off ... and we can start the whole thing all over again!

Something else that's been suspected for a while as it follows the comic story line ... Negan is defeated then there's a two/three year time jump. I think this is the producers just confirming what fans had already guessed.

Should shake things up nicely, but they better do it right. In the comic it follows proper logic with cars no longer working, cities and roads almost completely overgrown, etc. Might be tough to do this with their budget, but if they make this the last season they should throw everything at it.

The really intriguing thing this year is how they will write Rick out of the story. They better not follow through on that god awful scene with Daryl and Maggie starting to plot against Rick ... if they have one of those two kill him I'm done with the show.

that would rock. if you ever watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Joss Whedon's series) there was an episode featuring Buffy in a mental institution where others tried to persuade her out of her 'fantasy' about slaying vampires. she turns her back on *their* reality
