In Cannes, Spike Lee lambasts Trump over white supremacists

GO, Damaris!!!!! Prince would be SOOOOOOOO proud.

The movie, which tells the true story of an undercover African-American detective (John David Washington) and his Jewish partner (Adam Driver) who team up to infiltrate Klu Klux Klan in 1979, is incredibly timely. It even ends with footage of Donald Trump refusing to condemn the actions of white nationalists during the deadly 2017 Charlottesville riot. There are a lot of digs at the current president throughout “BlacKkKlansman” — one KKK member talks about embracing an “America first” policy and the film makes parallels between the rise of Trump and the political ambitions of former Grand Wizard David Duke (played with wide-eyed malevolence by “That ’70s Show’s” Topher Grace).

Lee walked the red carpet wearing brass knuckles from “Do the Right Thing,” which said “love” on one hand and “hate” on the other. He was joined by cast members Washington, Driver, Grace, Damaris Lewis, Jasper Paakkonen, Laura Harrier, and Corey Hawkins. Read More...

Thank you for posting, Fly. Do you know if this Denzel's son? When the Rams were in STL, Denzel was spotted on the sidelines of preseason games to watch is son John David Washington. My gut tells me that this has to be the same person.

I agree: He is VERY handsome and, from what I hear, he is also an exceptional actor. To boot, he is a Morehouse man!! I can also see a lot of his mother, Pauletta, in him. I think he is a perfect blend of the two.

Educated, handsome, talented - it sounds like he hit the trifecta, Fly. Agree about Pauletta...she is a beautiful, elegant woman. The Washington's long and happy marrigage is a testament to both of them and a rarity in Hollywood.

Again, thanks for posting. I'm very happy for Damaris, and will be looking for this one when it hits theatres.

I agree, pink. She has a very unique sense of style. Here's another long shot. She is glowing!! Even her hairstyle is growing on me (in some of the photos); however, I much prefer her short natural cut that she has been wearing in recent weeks. MUCH. I'll try to find one of those photos to post later.

I love the cut she had recently and I thought that the baby fro she had a few months back looked very nice! I saw that she partnered with Julia Ramadan last year and started a line of scented candles called Flo.

I think I remember reading about the candle line. Seems like she's been very busy. I would not be surprised if we start to see more of her on the high fashion runways, as well.
