isn't that a euphemism for Kensal Green? tease

North Kensington = Kensal Green is a popular, yet ill-begotten misconception.

The Grand Union Canal acts as a very effective demarcation line between Boho Land and, em, "vibrant" Kensal Green. The two areas don't even share the same postcodes.

North Ken is known for being a little schizo: apart from the millions of tourists who flock NK to buy antiques and bric-a-brac, the area is notorious for bohos and trustafarians rubbing shoulders with nobility and fading rock stars.

Madonna is an ex-resident of North Ken, and so is Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker. Both owned houses just a stone throw away from where my flat is located. Both were regulars at the Lisboa Patisserie, Coins and Tom's, where I get my daily caffeine fix.
Robbie Williams used to live near Ladbroke Grove before he took off for LA.
Damon Albarn was fond of spraying 'Gorillaz' graffiti close to "Notting Hill"'s "blue door" and all over Golborne Bridge, just across Trellick Tower (Erno Goldfinger'slandmark where The Clash shot some of their videos).

Brian Eno is still a resident - he rides a bike and he shops at the local Sainsbury's!

I bumped into Bono and his wife last year whilst walking along Portobello Road. God, I love this area...

Southgate, North London. Also home to the actor Ron Moody who played Fagin!
