Give Them Your CompanyThis doesn't necessarily mean asking them to do things and hang out. Making a commitment like that can make them feel pressured. Instead, ask to tag along with the grocery shopping, dropping books off at the library, doing the dishes. Your presence is sometimes all it takes. And don't feel like you aren't wanted if you aren't talking. Someone with depression feels lonely often, but talking can stress them out. They need you to just be there with them, even if that means sitting across the room or snuggling up next to them.
