For all that's wrong with the DCEU (and there's a LOT of things wrong with it) I still enjoy the movies that are part of it. With the exception of Suicide Squad. That was crap.

The Justice League movie was a major missed opportunity for them to showcase these characters but even so, it's still a decent film in its own right. OK, so there are very clear divisions between the scenes that Zack Snyder shot and those by Joss Whedon and for its budget, some of the horrendous CGI is borderline criminal. But it's fun, Gal Gadot is great again as Wonder Woman, Danny Elfman's score is a real highlight (especially how he brought back the real Superman and Batman themes) and Ben Affleck continues to be the best version of Batman since Michael Keaton.

It's far from perfect, but it's not the disaster a lot of "critics" wanted it to be.

I saw it in the cinema, liked it. It didnt blow me away, but i dont think its as bad as people say it is. I enjoyed svb too. Think DC is making cool movies. Its more serious than marvel and i like that. And superman is so hot. Damn. What a stud.

They are finally showing Superman in the promos and on the cover. Worse kept secret ever like Superman won't come back alive. Honestly hated killing Superman, just ruined it for starting a Justice league movie

The Death of Superman was done way better on the Superfriends (Superpowers Team: Galactic Guardians) than Batman V Superman/Justice League movie

They killed him far too early. They should have given him a full on sequel to Man of Steel first to build up his reputation on Earth so that when they DO kill him, it would have more impact. During that time they could have done a solo Batman movie where they'd go into a bit more detail regarding his own issues following the death of Robin, Harvey Dent turning to crime etc. It's all well and good alluding to all that with a single line of dialogue in Dawn of Justice but had we had a full movie that would show the impact these moments had on him, it would have amped up the drama a bit more and provided us with a reason for his distrust of Superman.

$27.99. I usually don't go for exlusive packaging, I prefer exclusive content, but we have the Target book versions for Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman & Wonder Woman, so they make a nice set on the shelf.

This film was let down by a few things but top of the list was its utterly bland villain.

And I still contend having Superman in these films negates any threat you can put in front of the heroes. I get he's a classic character but he's just too overpowered, it turns things in to a bit of a yawn fest.

I see what you're saying but the Justice League animated series is proof that having Superman on the team CAN work. You just need someone who knows what they're doing to be writing the script. Which is why I think that they would have been better off getting the writers of the Justice League animated series to do the movie.

He was that big compilation of awful CGI. Not to be confused with the big compilation of awful CGI that appeared in Batman vs Superman or the big compilation of awful CGI from Suicide Squad or the big compilation of awful CGI from Wonder Woman.

Blame WB and their money hungry let's-rush-these-movies-to-secure-our-year-end-bonuses execs for all that...
Not to mention that WB demanded a frustrated Snyder to make a Superman movie with Batman in it when he initially wanted to make "Man Of Steel 2" to flesh out Superman...
WB mandated all the reshoots with "funny" garbage and stupid music in "Suicide Squad" (a la that shitty "Guardians Of The Galaxy") instead of the original almost R-rated gritty aggression what David Ayer usually makes...
WB demanded reshoots and then rushed "Wonder Woman" to release so the ending wasn't as polished as the CGI team wanted because no time left...
WB demanded the reshoots and mandated the 2 hour runtime of "Justice League" with bullshit unfinished CGI (to much frustration and anger of the CGI artists) and weak, dated music (which was good for the original movies but totally unrelated and completely incoherent and ill fitting to these versions of the characters and movie universe...) and the completely shitty direction by the shitty Joss Whedon who in the process degraded "Wonder Woman" to just a weak piece of ass, like that misogynist piece of shit always wanted... (Read his old script for a "Wonder Woman" movie to see what this fucking cunt really thinks about that character and other female superhero characters...)

DC movies are the pinnacle of Corporate franchise garbage, like McDonalds... No serious director should ever come near the DC movie universe... A serious director should just make DC standalones that have nothing to do with that "universe" without letting WB demand anything... Won't happen and DC will keep degrading over time untill WB sells it off to a company who does care...

I agree with much of what you said, except for the Whedon bashing. Are you privy to exacly what Whedon took away from Snyder's version that "degraded Wonder Woman"? Whedon created Buffy, she's a strong female protagonist. No?

In fairness, when you're dealing with characters like Superman, there's only so far you can go down the "gritty" path. You can't have both Batman and Superman acting all dark and gritty. It works best when they are on opposite sides of that divide. But I agree that WB stuck their nose in where it didn't belong. There's no point in hiring any filmmaker and then standing over their shoulder making sure they do things a certain way. Just leave them to it.

Joss Whedon actually has a decent history with female characters. Just look at Buffy or Firefly. Plus, I didn't see how he treated Wonder Woman any differently to how Patty Jenkins treated her. And personally, I think bringing back the real Batman and Superman themes was a masterstroke. James Bond has the same theme in every movie, Wong Fei Hung has the same theme in every movie, so why shouldn't Batman or Superman. Besides, those themes have NEVER been bettered in any other Batman or Superman movie so why not use them?

I know it's not fashionable to say anymore but I really like Kevin Spacey as an actor and he knocked it out of the part with his Lex Luthor. OK, he was basically playing Gene Hackman playing Lex Luthor but he was great in the role. I would much rather him reprise his role than have Jesse Eisenberg. Then again, I'd rather pretty much anyone than Jesse Eisenberg. I was hoping that they'd kill him off in Justice League and bring in Christoph Waltz as his father, Lex Luthor Sr. It could have made for an interesting plot point in that he would blame Superman for the death of his son and that could be the set up for Man of Steel 2.

I'm not even sure who Cheetah is but I think I read she's going to be the villain in Wonder Woman 2. If they can resist having the big fight between the two turn into a big CGI-fest then it could be good.

The best scene in Justice League is the scene near the beginning that's just Wonder Woman against the terrorists, so, I don't see Wonder Woman degraded by Whedon at all. I'm with you on Buffy & Firefly, until Avengers Age Of Ultron and the silly complaints about Black Widow's character, Whedon was known for strong females in his work.

The Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL themes are crap though. There's nothing memorable about them at all and could literally be themes for anything. The John Williams Superman theme and the Danny Elfman Batman theme suit their characters perfectly AND are instantly recognisable. Like I said, James Bond has his theme, Batman and Superman should have theirs.

I agree wholeheartedly with WB fucking it up big time. They rushed to the big team up movie before establishing the characters that would feature in it.

I stand by my comments about how Wonder Woman is portrayed across both movies. There's no major differences in her character. If anything, I think they gave her too big a role in Justice League when they positioned her as the leader of the group. You might say she's hung up on some guy from years ago but that's no different to how Captain America is portrayed in the MCU when he's similarly hung up on Agent Carter. The fact that she misses Steve Trevor isn't because she's a woman, it's because she's sentimental. She's the heart of the team, exactly the same as Captain America in the Avengers. Also, don't forget that in Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkins had her defeat Ares with the power of love or some shit, so these kinds of things weren't added to her character by Joss Whedon.
