That was a Snyder scene... Whedon only changed the ending to the building not blowing up...

If that is the case, how did Whedon degrade Wonder Woman. If what you say is correct, most of WW's scenes in JL are Snyder scenes.

As for the "men with tits" comment, I find that odd. Most fangirls I know, including my wife, love Whedon's portrayal of strong women. Until the misguided opinions of his portrayal of Scarlet Witch in Age Of Ultron, I never heard a single complaint from women about his female characters. In fact I often heard the opposite.

Whedon is not the problem with regards to the JL movie. WB interference is the problem.

Yeah, I agree. And speaking as a woman, I didn't even have any issues with how women were portrayed in Age of Ultron. A lot of fuss about nothing.

I found Justice League to be an ok watchable movie but it could have been so much more. They shoulda had a better story.

Luther Prison break was cool at the end but Lex isn't a stupid man. If would make more sense if he got out due to some legal technicality.

Ezra Miller portrayal of The Flash was all wrong. That's not the Barry Allen I know if anything Id go with Bart Allen/Impulse

For the Villain they shoulda went with Kalibak son of Darkseid who wants to please his dad.At the very end Darkseid should have appeared to rescue

i don't know if this is whedon or snyder (i'd suspect snyder) but i thought there was a rather leering quality in the way ww was shot in several scenes, like the camera was ogling her, that wasn't present in her stand-alone movie. i'm thinking particularly of the scene where i believe she meets cyborg & the camera lingers very deliberately on her butt, and a very quick scene where the flash lands on top of her in a 'missionary-position.'

not that i'm a prude, certainly, but there was an adolescent, teenaged horniness feel to some of her scenes, & i'm willing to bet that's a snyder-ism.

Whether it was Snyder or Whedon I don't see the issue with a bit of ogling. Let's face it, they don't waste the opportunity to show Henry Cavill without his shirt on every chance they get. If Wonder Woman was the only character "subjected" to such treatment then I might see a problem with it but if anything, it's the men in this series which has been the subject of ogling more so than the women. Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Jason Momoa have all been in scenes which show off their bodies.

Plus, there were a few instances in the Wonder Woman solo movie which focused on Gal Gadot's ASSets so I don't think it's a "male director" issue. It's more of a "sex sells" issue and there's nothing wrong with that.

yeahthat Over in the Black Panther Affect thread there's many a lustful comments about the male bodies in the Marvel movies. Sex does sell. Men AND women like to see sexy bodies on screen. Shaming those that sell it or those that are turned on by it is simply nonsense. wink

Exactly those scenes were discussed on some boards and were confirmed to be some of the dubious things shot by Whedon during his reshoots... Gal Gadot didn't even like those shots and opted for a body double... None of the actors seemed to acknowledge Whedon during the reshoots...

i'm the last person who'll argue against a bit of well-placed sleaze in his films. as i never tire of telling people, my favourite film is beyond the valley of the dolls. i love a bit of trash.

but there's a time & place for such things. this is a movie made for a broad audience, young kids among them, & i don't think it's pearl-clutching, think of the children hysterics to say that it'd not very cool to have such a leering quality in a film aimed at least in part at younger people. when you consider just months earlier there was a massively successful film featuring that character that was trumpeted as a triumph, something for extremely young girls to celebrate as a role model, openly ogling her that same year is really a bit of a betrayal to those kids.

i haven't seen ww since it opened, so my memory of it has dimmed, & while they definitely did not try to tamp down her sex appeal or dim her looks, i don't think the camera ever blatantly eye-humped gadot the way it did in jl.
it's not my only problem with the film, or the biggest one for that matter - just needlessly trashy in a way that undermined the good will they'd built up for that character just a few months earlier.

Is it just Wonder Woman that you feel that way about or do you also think that Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Jason Momoa should not be "eye-humped" (great expression, by the way). How about the Marvel movies when Chris Hemsworth is often seen without his shirt in scenes specifically set up so that he can be eye-humped by the female cast. Or the numerous shirtless scenes featuring Hugh Jackman in the X-Men movies. Showing off a character's body may not be a necessary part of the movie but if the male actors do it, why can't the female actors do it too. It's not as though she got her tits out or anything. Heaven forbid. Some folks in the audience might faint.

When you watch Wonder Woman again I think you'll be surprised at how often the camera lingers on the exposed parts of her outfit.

i think the point people are trying to make is that there is a difference between classy (Patty Jenkins film style) and trashy (Whedons cheap TV movie of the week style)
His Marvel movies are exactly that and you can easily pick the scenes he shot for JL out in the movie because, honestly, theyre just not consistent and plain corny and awful, again like his Mavel movies.

That new Avengers movie looks to be a huge step in an awesome direction (like Civil War was) compared to the first two Syfy channel quality movies by Whedon.
I've looked up his screenplay for Wonder Woman and that guy comes of as some douchy creep who should stay away from female superheros.

The movie is pretty good.
The 'resolve' was expected.
I sorta wish this movie focused more on the heroes coming together and learning their powers, dealing with humanity -in the process the Amazons or the Atlantians sharing the info of the boxes being able to raise Superman.

Every scene with Wonder Woman was @ 100% I LOVE her character

Need to really see Aquaman abilities, Cybor being helped by Batman to fine tune his stuff, the Flash learning abilities to actually fight etc

I think you're in the minority there when you refer to the first two Avengers movies as Syfy channel quality. They both reviewed well and were big hits at the box office. Not liking the movies is one thing, but your complaints about them come off as though you just don't like the director and you're using that dislike to form an opinion on the movies he's made. I've seen a lot of people slate Zack Snyder's take on Superman in Man of Steel and the Batman vs Superman movie because they just don't like him, similarly to how you've just done with Joss Whedon. I don't care who directs the movies just so long as the movies are good. And the Avengers (especially the first one) was really good. It genuinely felt like a big event that had been built up over the prior four years. I kind of liked Justice League but it didn't have that same impact. Nowhere near it. There was little to no build up. We didn't even know who Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg were prior to the movie coming out. The CGI was awful, as has been the case in all of the DCEU movies so far. The plot seemed to have been written on the back of a napkin. Batman, an undisputed highlight of BvS, was severely underused because too much time was spent explaining what the mother boxes are and why we should care about them. None of these issues had anything to do with Joss Whedon.

The Flash reminds me of Peter Parker (or seems like he could have a cool story like the original Spiderman movies)

For Aquaman, I think we need a Wonder Woman type movie, since he isn't a regular human, from Atlantis. That whole mystic is always interesting.

I know they like the Flash/Cyborg relationship but that would be ok if Flash was Wally West, but he's Barry Allen (The Best Flash). Now if they wanted comic relief they should have gotten Firestorm. With Ronald Raymond also being young he and Cyborg complements one another much better.

I do believe there is an Aquaman movie coming out, with the horrible "actress" that plays Mera. I'm passing on this on this one since I'm not a Jason Momoa fan

Aquaman Movie Poster by jackjack671120

Aquaman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is intended to be the sixth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by James Wan, with a screenplay by Will Beall, from a story by Wan and Geoff Johns, and stars Jason Momoa stars as the titular character, with Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren and Nicole Kidman in supporting roles. It is the third live-action theatrical film featuring the titular character, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017), and will be the first full-length feature film centered around the character. In Aquaman, Arthur Curry, the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.

Principal photography began in Australia on May 2, 2017, with most of the film shot at Village Roadshow Studios in Gold Coast, Queensland, and wrapped on October 21, 2017. The film is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in RealD 3D and IMAX 3D on December 21, 2018.
